Looking at this box:

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=storage&item_ID=89800&group_ID=24507&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Snap on guy has it on his truck and is willing to part with it for $7800tax in with a Stainless top (non Power) and he'll throw in a cover and snap on jacket.

Just the box for 6400$ plus tax.

He wont take a trade, however my boss will buy my current box a Mac 2 bay tech 1000 bottom cab for $1500, it's 5 years old.

Just wondering if its a fair deal, can i do better?

FYI an Epiq is the only box i want...a co worker has one and I love it!!

Forgot to mention I am Canadian...

That sounds like a very good deal for a new box from a dealer.

The only better deal is used from CL but I never see Epiqs.

That's an awful nice box. It's all you would need for the rest of your career. If you are going to be in it for the long haul then it's probably definitely worth the money.

I'd put a mattress on top instead of a stainless top so I could sleep on it every night!:lol_hitti

I might have to after my wife see's how much the bill is going to be :shocking:

I told her i needed a new box in August and she said we can save up the $1000 or so to buy a new one!:wtf:

She has no clue how expensive it is to be in this trade!
And to buy quality stuff that's going to last, and not hurt me by breaking easily..

This will be the last box I ever buy....debating on weather to take a bigger plunge and buy the hutch/workstation with it now...to just get it all over with! I know i'll want one in the future:yikes:

famous last words,
i said the same thing back in '86 when i bought my kr550/555. by the time i was done buying boxes, i had added another roller cab and side box, & 4 or 5 more side boxes.

i really thought i'd have to sleep in my box when i got laid off 6 weeks after i bought it.
my ex noticed that "those aint the same toolboxes you had before"

thankfully i kept the boxes, and eventually got rid of her.

I would say that is a good price, but I have noticed good eqip deals come up somewhat often. Its an insanly expensive box in a soft economy, they have to work wonder deals to move the things. Unless SO only builds two a week, I'm betting there is more supply then demand. I have looked at trading up from my KRL 1022 to an epiq, but have no interest in a box payment.
