Good Tool Values, Do They Still Exist?

In these crazy times there are still some good values to be had, even with tools. I buy a lot of tools as a contractor and they see rough use and abuse, but this ryobi bit set is still only 15bucks. The bits fit the fasteners well, really haven't broken any bits and if the guys lose the whole set it's only 15$. I'm sure there are still plenty of good deals, this one just sticks out, so let's hear what other good deals still exist.

Denny’s Tool Emporium in Phoenix, AZ had the best deals ever. Its past time for the doors to reopen for more Toptul and Eclatorq bargains.

Barring that happening, we have to be happy and hopeful for 20% Harbor Freight coupons that can be used for ICON.

The Bremen locking pliers at HF are a good deal.

I think Home Depot and Lowes have most of their Holiday Tool Specials out on display already. There are lots of decent BOGOs on cordless tools along with the usually assorted chaff to pick from. Home depot featured a decent looking combination wrench set that featured long pattern wrenches paired with stubbies. I didn't have time to see how bad the lobster claw open ends were though

I don't buy sets like the OP anymore. They have stuff that I never use and I spent more time taking care of the kit. I got one of these and it's perfect. I have one where I am working, one on my tool pail and one in my portable box.

You need one you take it out and replace the one you were using. Once I got one of these I really looked at what I ACTUALLY used and threw out lot of bits.

I'm guessing those are bit holders? Looks like it would be great for a tool belt, do you have a link?

Was just in home depot, looks like they have allot of tool inventory their bringing in, maybe double what they had last year. Hopefully there will be some decent discounts this year.

Purchased a Hercules 13 amp angle grinder for $89 Includes 3 Different size guards and a grinding wheel. Seems smooth and powerful. (on sale $76 so going back for price adjustment)

Not much else like it out there in that price range.

Tsunoda pliers. If you havent check them out, do so. They are the best bang for the buck and are made in Japan. Check them out on Amazon. The duckbills are top notch as are the long handled needle nose.
Agreed. Crazy good pliers, and cheap!

Also, have a look at the "Doyle" and "Bremen" brand pliers at Horror Fright. Made in Taiwan and excellent quality for the money. I like their duckbill a little better than the Tsunoda, actually.

I’ve been real happy with the value of several SATA tools. This Allen Key set has perfect chrome, nicely chamfered lead in which is sized to the diameter, convenient torque handle and a nice length. The dimensions of the hexes are within my measurement accuracy, a half a thousandth. As taught, I will never use the ball end, if any one can see me. As far as value, I’ll let you decide. It’s going for $4.43!

Doyle brand pliers from Harbor Freight. As much as it pains me to say. They are as good as Channellock right out of the pack and pretty much equal to Klein after a few days break in period.

Just bought a few more of these ryobi sets, for 15$ you can't beat them. Must of bought a dozen sets that I gave to all the crews, figure they are disposable.

These dewalt double drawer boxes are 30% off, picked up another 6 and went back for a couple more and they were gone.

Three weeks later it's $15.22! Wow what a price increase

Just noticed in home depot the ridgid 10" job site table saw is in sale for 399$. It's a great saw for that price and moves easy on the included stand.

Dewalt has some decent deals, at HD I bought the 2 battery kit & got a free tool, grabbed the brushless grinder. It came with a 4 & 6 ah battery, charger & bag, a decent deal.

To me these are a good value, nos proto usa adjustable wrenches cheaper than imports. Glad to see there's still some nos stock of usa tools around, just have to look.

This might be a good deal but the one they have on their drill bits isn't. ****** drills bits might as well be no drill bits.
I hope they are adequate for home repairs. I just picked up a set of hex shank impact-ready drills to use around the house. The price was right at $10

I picked up a set back in September for under $5. Dislike the bulky case and handle design (will probably toss it) but the keys seem pretty good and are finished nicely.

Even buying USA made Proto stuff new is often very reasonable when you consider what you are getting and the warranty it comes with.

Although another of the new SBD V series craftsman stuff has been pretty tempting due to the price point and the fact that they are foreign made version of Proto and Facom stuff. New that the Texas Craftsman factor is up and running, I am expecting those to be some incredible deals.

Before all the stock was gone (except for the low tooth count ratchets), CATERPILLAR tools could be had for only a little more than taiwan made tools.

A lot of them look just like Snap-on and some actually say Snap-on. Others look just like Williams.

I felt like I was getting away with something when I bought them. I wish that I had bought more.
