I see a lot of posts on here about drawer liners. I thought I would share the stuff I found after quite a bit of searching. It is called ECORE QT4005 Sound Control. It’s meant to go under wood floors so I bought it at a local flooring place off the shelf.
What I like:
- 5mm (a little more than 3/16”) thickness so it will not bunch up from closing drawers and really quiets the drawer down
- lays flat with its own weight
- Recycled rubber texture is very grippy but your tools won’t stick to it
- Was inexpensive at $1 per sqft vs other options
- 4’x30’ roll (100 lbs of material) will fill many tool chests and cover the drawer with one piece
- doesn’t really smell, maybe just a hint of odor since a it is new
- cuts easy enough with a sharp blade or tin snips
Yes, yes, I know. There are thinner materials, but I chose this one. If I can’t live with a few extra millimeters loss in height then I probably have the tool in the wrong drawer.
Cheers
