Hello everyone

I possess a Mastercraft propane torch that I had to get replaced 3 times already under the one year warranty, I am not using it often but it always seem to break, I believe there might be a problem with the valve.

I would like to know where I could get a decent one. The only other I've seen is a benzomatic which look the same as the mastercraft.

Thank you.

How do they break? Are you sure you are not being too rough on the opening / closing of the valve? They are so simple I just can't imagine going through 3 of them unless you absolutely beat on them. :dunno:

My main torch is a Bernzomatic TS8000 or something, it has the trigger ignition and swirl. Most of the time I keep it hooked up to a 20lb propane tank due to economy. However it does not have a pen point inner cone flame like that little one does. After that they turbo torches are nice, but quite a setup up in $.

I also have a few of those small simple torches of different makes and vintages. They are not as handy, but they work no issue.

I recently bought the Benzomatic TS8000... It works nicely, but I've only used it a few times so far.

Just because the Mastercraft is a copy of the Bernzomatic doesn't mean it's the same as a Bernzomatic. I've got a Bernzomatic I've been using 30 years and never had a problem with. Maybe the new ones aren't the same quality, but I honestly can't see how you're "breaking" them...

I use a rothenberger, pretty sure it's the same as the benzomatic one in the picture , had it years , rebuild kits are available if needed , every plumber I've seen in the UK uses the same model

I also have a Bernzomatic Mapp torch like the one shown. It has not given problems (in light use).

In this area some plumbers use those but most still use air-acetylene.
