looking to get a toolbox for my full size pickup. i do not need to lock up thousands of dollars worth of tools nor am i a contractor. but i do like to have a few things with me all the time and the back seat is a terrible option for me so far and a tote in the back has not proved to work well for me either so i would like a toolbox again. so i know the good ones can be up to and beyond $1k and i know a well known brand is weatherguard but the value one from them is the defender series. and as far as i can see the defender doesn't get great reviews, at that point i should just go with a tractor supply or a husky for almost half the price. i like the new Decked box but they don't seem to have it in stock and it has been a few month wait so far.

what are your thoughts?

Ive never had a WeatherGuard brand one but Ive had plenty of the cheaperish ones that came from the 'farm store' type places. Other than a janky latch that you might have to mess with from time to time Ive never thought that I needed something better. I think most of mine have been some variant of DeeZee.

UWS is supposed to be a good one, but Ive never personally had one.'

I can break into a $1000 dollar one just as easy as a $200 dollar one with a prybar. Id never pay that much for one.

I like challenger or UWS. had both and no real issue. my UWS low profile is ok, but i found out the hard way the low profile uses thinner metal so i wound up reinforcing it with some garage door type angle iron
