Who makes a good WARM Mechanics Style jacket? I had a Big Mac ( ftom J.C. Penny) for many many years that was great but it started to get warn out so I replaced it with another Big Mac from J.C. Penny that looks like the origional but I could tell is a little lighter and it is COLD. I didn't have the heart to throw my old one out and am now to the point of sending my old one out to a seamstress to get a zipper installed and all stiched up, I don't care what it will cost because I am tired of freezing if I can't get a better Mechanic's Style jacket. Who makes a good warm Mechanics Style Jacket? I do not want a different style because the Mechanics Style is not bulky and I can work in it. Thanks!!!

Flannel long sleve and a dickies or Red Napp jacket...good combo...the Carharts are to bulky for service work...unless your working out doors on something...then Carharts for sure.

I have always just used a Wal-Mart hoodie. Costs about $20, very warm (i live in the northeast), very good fit, not too bulky, and best of all i dont care if i ruin it. :)

I also have to go with the Carhartt. The seem to last forever and are warm. You do have to know which liner you need. The come in flannel , arctic, and quilted. Mine are all the arctic ones and you hardly ever get cold, yet you can still work in them.I'm referring to the hooded / non hooded jackets , not the coat.

I don't think you can go wrong with Carhartt. I've got one for work and it's great. Large hood fits over a hardhat and keeps rain, snow, hail and wind off my neck like a champ. A little bulky but nothing unbearable.

I wear one of these everyday! Great warm jacket, you'll find yourself sweating in it! Also has extra material in the armpits to allow reaching and stuff. LOVE IT!

I have great things to say about this company. Greatest stuff ive ever bought!

Been wondering about their stuff. I love the ideas behind their innovations.

What is the COO? I know the company is US but the originators sold out so . . .?

i used to have a red kap one that i liked, found it somewhere i can't recall at the moment, was a west coast choppers one, loved it. no idea what happened to it, or who borrowed it and never fessed up. wasnt the warmest thing when below freezing, but i hate most coats for bulk. i got enough bulk myself lol. length is a huge downfall for me too, being 6'5", and i recall this one covering my belt. been meaning to get with the cintas guy about a 3x double tall red cap.
