Need to look at where the money is going. Don't know about insulation. The lumberjacks and forest industry claims they are not making more money, truckers are not doing that well with increased fuel prices, the retailers claim they are not making more money on lumber. So someplace between the woods and the store someone is raking in massive profits! The media tells us that it is supply and demand, shipping bottle necks. Of course the media is owned by the same people who are raking in massive profits!
Could it be the middle men, the large corporations buying up everything in sight? No not possible in the US. Follow the money.

West Fraser had an 81 percent sales increase over last year, bringing in a $9 million profit In the first quarter of 2020, compared to a $665 million profit in the first quarter of 2021.
