Just picked up a set figured put them in the extra drawer for later, seeing we won't be able to get us made any longer.
They still want $4 per driver at both stores near me. $18 for the set. I'm patient. In my store, they were marked down from $7.97 to $4.38 on clearance. I bought the last 5 sets. Score.

They are also clearancing the Stack-On plastic drawer units. $16 down from $19 or so. I offered to take all of them for half the sticker price, and was declined.
Damn it, I love these screwdrivers. No wonder I couldn't find any in the stores here. I hate hate hate acetate handle screwdrivers, I just can't stand how they feel in my hand. I guess I'll have to keep my eye out for something else. I doubt anything this good in the $20 range.
Are they "made in the USA" or do they have some other designation like "assembled in the USA" or "made in the USA with global components"?
I believe I've read several times that they aren't straight-up "made in the USA."
The Masterforce ones at Menards are made in the USA by Pratt-Read.
Am I understanding correctly that some of you are finding the 6-piece USA set (sku 542418) for 8 bucks or less? They had two sets at my local store , but only marked down to 16 bucks.
Yes, I found the 6pc. US set marked down at my local store.

Here are the new style. Note the square shaft on this #2 compared to the round-shaft #2 of the old design.
This doesn't seem to be a rebrand of an OEM I recognize. It sure doesn't look like any of the obvious USA made brands. I suppose it could have been ordered at these specs and design from PR, WF, Stanley or someone else, but it sure doesn't look like a simple rebrand of another driver I recognize.
I wonder if Apex could be the OEM, since they're now supplying a lot of the other hand tools?
Anyone recognize this driver design?
The new Husky handles seem to remind me a little of the Stanley Workmaster series of screwdrivers that were produced in the 1970s and 1980s. While they have finger grooves, the overall profile of the handle is triangular. Have no idea who made them for Stanley (perhaps Western Forge?) or how expensive (or cheap) these were when they were available, but the few I have seem to have held up really well over the decades. I tend to pick them up when they show up at garage sales.

Yes, I had also noted the similar shape in another thread. But, it could just be a casual similarity, rather than any indication that Stanley Black & Decker makes them.
The unusual design of the Phillips blade could be a big hint, but I don't know of any other companies that make screwdrivers in the USA with that blade. There could be some that I'm just not familiar with.

My stores have new dewalts that look to be better quality than the stanley pictured. 10 piece for 2999. Look more like kleins than stanley to me.
Those don't have the same Phillips tip as the new Husky drivers.
Those Phillips blades are used in some other Stanley made drivers like Blackhawk, for example.
Here are two photos of Blackhawk drivers that use that tip.

Are they the MADE IN THE USA Dewalts?
Dewalt is owned by Stanley Black and Decker, so those are likely just rebranded Sankey drivers. If you look at the blades, it looks like the have the unusual Stanley tip shown in this thread on the Blackhawk drivers and Klein-esque Stanley drivers.
Also, look at the fine print. Many Stanley tools are made in the USA with global materials, not truly "made in the USA."
