Goodell & Pratt Wall Mount

I recently picked up this Craigslist find, wall mounted drill press from Goodell & Pratt. I tried to find out some more info on this, but cant seem to locate any comparable models. Has anyone seen another like this?

I'm not sure if I will keep it as-is, or make an attempt at restoring the old girl.

They show up faifly often on CL around here, pretty sure there is one on there now, might be a different brand. My arm's getting tired just looking at it.....

Goodell-Pratt sold lower end tools in the late 19th and early 20th century before they were bought by Millers Falls, which IMHO, was a major step up for them. Ive got one of their lathes and occasionally see other tools, but they are rather rare, probably bc theyre rather lightly built and OLD. A bit of company history below.

The common name for that is a "post drill". Put that in Google and you'll get lots of general info. Goodell-Pratt don't seem to be too common, big names are Champion Blower & Forge and Buffalo Forge. Totally dig the lettering on that. Cool find. If it were me I would just do a light cleaning & lube and call it done.

Psiber, I think you are right on. Just clean it and hang it on the wall for a cool addition to the garage.
