I've been watching and looking here and there for a aluminum floor jack once I get an enclosed trailer. Now that the trailer is on order, I have been picking up stuff for the trailer. Yesterday, I bought a rechargeable LED light and today a set of 3 Masterlocks.

Today while at Family Farm and Home, I spotted this Goodyear 1.5 Ton Aluminum floor jack on clearance for $60.

I tried to do some searching and came up empty even using Google (for GJ). Anybody have any thoughts, experience, reviews or a link to a previous thread that I missed on it ?

I figured the money wasn't bad and for occasional use in the car trailer, it might be ok.

Thoughts ?

Sure looks identical to my HF unit. Which BTW has worked great for the last ten years. So if it's one in the same you'll be fine. Just don't leave it turned upside down for extended periods of time or you'll need to bleed it.

The plan is to get a PitPal jack pocket for it sit upright in.

I'm not sure if that'll be an issue or not Eric. I just know there's been a few times when it came home just tossed into the mix in whatever orientation who ever was loading felt adequate and me having to bleed the darn thing.

Agreed. I love those little HF ones. They do 90% of everything on my property. I hAve a big lincoln for the dually and heavy trailer...but hardly use it.

I use the HF for moving welding table, boxes, machines, and our daily cars.

A little off topic, but these Commando Locks are "pretty much" theft proof. I use one on my trailer. http://www.commandolock.com/welcome-to-commando-lock/models-2/ic3-tactical/

I thought about buying some of those locks that are round with the hasp enclosed but I need three, barlocks on the back and tongue lock. I figured they might be overkill if somebody wants in, they can (easily ?) pry open the side door.

The set I bought have the octagonal boron carbide hasp. :dunno:

Talked to a buddy today and showed him the jack incasse his son wants one for his trailer. He said his Cman jack (of the same style) sits in the pocket holder and ocassionally has an issue but it's rode there for about 5 years now.

I bought it, so it's mine. If I have an issue, I'll just have to deal with it when the time comes.

Glad to hear Dave, this one was probably made in the same factory on an off day or at a factory around the corner.

the side plates are different than my Torin branded HF jack I've had for years, only problem was a weak snap ring holding the plunger return spring got lost in space, so i had to get one at the hardware store.

those stacked plate lock come apart pretty fast if you beat on them with a 3lb hammer.
