Hello,

From South Eastern WI. Recently purchased a different house with 3.65 acres of land and has attached 2 car garage with a 20x30 polebarn. Been googling different things in regards to insulation, heating, electrical, and such. This site is almost always at the top of each search and I find the info is pretty good, so I thought I might as well signup.

As for what I use my garage and shop for, I am into pretty much anything DIY or building in general, I been getting into tinkering with electronics lately, used to build PC's on the side back in the day when you could make money at it. Although my main 2 hobbies are automotive, I have a 42 Dodge truck hot rod I am building and woodworking. I am also a custom cabinet maker by trade and last couple of years I been doing that on the side as well and the polebarn will be mostly used for that hobby and the 2 car garage everything else.

Now that I have a dedicated space for woodworking my plans are to try to grow my side business. Hopefully if that works out a 30x80 might be in the distant future for the business. Than the 20x30 can be for automotive and tractors and other things than I can actually have the 2 car garage to park our daily drivers in. LOL

MdWI: welcome to our forum. it's a great place to learn and share some ideas and thoughts. i know you probably know this, but your extra space will fill up quickly with all that you've mentioned so you might want to draw up a plan. also i use pallet racking like they use in Home depot or big warehouses that hold a ton, but i really like being about to park my trailer under them and have storage above and for those against the walls i don't put in a bottom shelf and have cabinets, machines and benches under them with storage above.

good luck and maybe take a peak at the Organizing 201 thread i started and see if you find any ideas or maybe you can add a few. here's the link:
