BA (British Association) threads are a useful and logical range of threads for small fasteners used in electrical equipment, precision instruments and model engineering. I used them a lot when building audio amplifiers in the 1970's. Before that my AM10 model aircraft engine used an 0BA thread on it's prop shaft.

An 0BA nut is about 0.41" across the flats and so is not a near fit for any standard imperial, or metric socket size. Gordon obviously felt that the user of one of their socket sets may well encounter 0BA fasteners in the course of their work. Smaller BA sizes are more appropriately accommodated by 1/4" drive sockets.

A brief visit to my small local car boot sale yesterday yielded a little brother for the slip joint pliers above. 5" or 130mm.

Gordon tools was run by Denis and William Mansell ,ex Norton Motors executives .....Norton was also in the tool business ,supplying the roughly made spanners and screw jacks for car makers toolkits.

Another find from yesterday.

I generally don't see many metric Gordon tools at car boot sales.
