I recently discovered GORUCK when looking for some backpacking gear. I picked up a GORUCK GR Echo and was so smitten with the construction and quality I picked up a GORUCK GR2. I plan on putting them to good use on a future backpacking trip to Europe. 
The Echo fits inside the GR2, and the GR2 will fit standard carry-on size requirements.
They're made in Montana, and Jason, the founder, is ex Special Forces (combat controller, I believe). He's a devout believer in Made in the USA, as you can see on the news section of the site. He has visited many Made in the USA manufacturing facilities including Surefire, Benchmade, and Danner.
