I would go with the New Craftsman that you can check on your phone but replacing 4 openers... that can be pricey and time consuming

I like this one.

I was thinking that it's pretty bad if the wife can't even be trusted to make sure the door's closed before she drives off. Maybe she just needs an incentive?

Hell, I have done it myself a couple of times. It is easy to be judgemental isn't it?

Bottom line Boys and Girls, wait until your door is completely closed..Period!! then drive off it's the only way your gonna know for sure. if a leaf, piece of paper, your neighbors cat or dog breaks that beam..Up goes your door! It only takes a few seconds not gonna make or break the bank. This way if it is open, you know for sure you've got a problem. lights, bells and whistles don't mean Squat if no one's home.

man that reminds me of the time i came to my shop and found the fourteen foot overhead door was open all night on the back of my building. First though was i got robbed but found nothing out of place. I put the door down and when it hit the ground it went right back up. Turned out there was a small piece of masking tape stuck to the seal and when it came down it broke the beam sending the door back up, when i put the door down with my remote i remembered it moving down but then pulled away. Now when i use my remote to close up i watch it close completely lol . . . . lesson learned i guess.

We did that once too at our shop in the middle of crackhead/scrapper central.
Each of us thought the other had closed it...Got lucky that nothing was taken.

my garage was left open several time and it took my months to figure out why. the sunlight at certain times of day would interfere with the beams letting the door go all the way down and right back up again.

my fix...mount both beams over the door about 6 inches apart. the only safety i have now is pressure when the door closes.

I had a similar issue, and a similar fix at my house in Vegas.

I had to put them back when my daughter got old enough to walk outside by herself.

My 20yo daughter and her boyfriend had stopped by to finish the last bit of sanding the brand new sheetrock in my brand new 4-car garage

How did no one else see this? They sucking up to Pops? BF trying to get in good with you? Whats the secret? All I hear nowadays is how lazy most kids are.

Congrats on the 4 car garage!

Oh yeah garage butler seems to be the best bet for your issue.

Fifteen bucks an hour and irregular hours will get some kids' attention.

She is an EMT and CNA, while he owns his own Cummins snowplow/2 yd sander and a roaming handyman, so neither kid has regular hours. And both of my shoulders and rotator cuffs are thrashed from this garage's construction.
