I recently received a 34 piece Husky Combo Wrench Set.

With case, and I also was given the 16,14, and 11 mm since they don't come in the set.

it was a gift, and she gave the receipt? Is it worth keeping? I really needed a stubby set as well as a spare set for the truck but husky isn't my first choice especially since the ventured over seas.

I also have to add a front to the case, why the heck would they leave it open? I am thinking plastic or plexiglass with rivets in each corner!

Forgot to add. I do love how heavy and thick they are. They may not be american but I'm fairly impressed.

She also bought the whole set for 20 bucks!!! Seems like a steal! The spent 8 bucks on the 3 additional wrenches alone

I have some older ones and they have been fine backups. I don't think the $20 price was bad either. I would keep em, but I am a tool hoarder.

I have some husky wrenches. Stubbies and flex ratcheting stubbies. They are pretty decent for imported tools.

Honestly not to completely bash 99% of our members.

But has anyone ever thought some imported things are better than american products? Maybe not tools...but electronics are the first things that come to mind.

Which electronic products exactly would you be talking about? American made consumer electronics are virtually non-existent. So imported electronics are better by default.

For what little you have in them, I would certainly keep them if I were you.

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Other that watches or something they really don't make much

So we should completely abandon US manufacturing because... why?

I like my money to go to supporting American workers, not to support a not-quite-declared-enemy foreign government....

Motorola just confirmed they're shutting down their Texas assembly plant. Probably the result of Lenovo buying them from Google.

Crappy =/, maybe Apple will abandon the Chinese manufacturing market for more of their product lines. They are building / using that sapphire glass plant outside of PHX I believe now aren't they?

Keep them... They were a gift and I think too many people here get caught up with the name of the tools. I think Husky tools are just fine for an entry level tool. I have higher end tools but I still have some Husky tools in the truck and I don't see any reason to upgrade them. They work just fine!!

Its not easy anymore......... in part due to the government regulations and unions.

Yeah I heard rumors that Apple is about to revolutionize the way and efficiency of manufacturing products out of sapphire. They did the same thing with aluminum (at least for the consumer market).

I'm old school I don't return gifts, though it was thoughtful to give you receipt and to buy the additional wrenches.

Keeping it all depends on how many wrenches you have.

I've got several sets of sk, craftsman, stanley and kobalt. I just bought another kobalt 40 piece socket set to keep in the Jeep.

Having said that, I'd keep it in my vehicle but that depends on your needs.

It was a thoughtful gift.

:+1: at very least i think it would be a nice home garage/emergency/vehicle wrench set.

Key words; american workers.

The biggest problem is that Americans(youth mostly) just don't want to work. Laziness and technology will be the death of us all.

That's a bunch of ****, but ignorance and passing the buck for sure will be the downfall of us all. Damn those lazy youth and their buying of cheap **** foreign goods in the 80's and 90's helping too kill American industry. The nerve of those lazy kids voting in a president who supported NAFTA. Oh wait ... Those lazy youths have just got done volunteering over the past decade for wars on multiple fronts, but that must have just been all of the Baby Boomers doing that I guess not the Gen X and Gen Y kids.

Everyone takes everything so literally these days.

There is never one situation that includes everyone.

I'm not saying they(we, I'm 19) are all lazy. I'm saying as a whole it is a problem.

Way to many chiefs not enough Indians on this site.

Shhhhhhh...it's a secret!:D

OP, wrench is wrench. 20 bucks lifetime warranty (whether or not that warranty is honored is a different story) but you can at least use these without worrying about messing them up.

I bought a set of Husky wrenches when I first started my job about a year ago now. They were about $25 with the added 18mm. I still have them and they aren't the best but for the price I'm happy. Eventually I'll get a new set of wrenches and bring the husky ones home. Seems like they are the same as the new craftsman pro wrenches.

I'd keep them, just like other mentioned, they're great for a vehicle if nothing else. When you're a long way from home and broke down, tools are invaluable.

with a question like this i'm gonna assume yer not a "pro" mechanic. or you wouldn't ask such things.
so I guess your family is buying you tools because you like to work on stuff or your young.
don't be afraid to put those husky wrenches in yer main garage box.
they'll be fine.
if you already have a set like it in yer main box than its time to buy a small box to keep stuff in the trunk of yer car or behind the seat of yer truck.

For what it is worth I bought the Metric Husky box end wrench set some time back and they have never given me any problems; my vote would be to keep the set.

Bingo!

I'm 19 and build engines and vehicles(sometimes not my choice)

I went to borrow a 15mm the other day to replace the nsbu switch on my allison/duramax

THE ONLY one I could find was a Chinese brand not even coated box end combo, the open end was bent outwards. And the closed end had no teeth left. So I told my mother/grandma what happened just because they heard the wrench hit the wall. (it was 11 at night in the rain)

Needless to say this kit was on the driver side of my truck the next morning

I am keeping it, the true test will come when I drop the ****** (again.....) this week. No more searching for 25 minutes for 1 tool out of my dad's garage.

I have considered posting pictures of the situation but some of yall OCD fellas would have a heart attack

^^ this is good advice.

Put them on a shelf and go out and buy the brand/set you want. Then whenever you see them it'll remind you of the person that gave them to you and that even for just a few minutes they were thinking about you at the time.
