Got a new bottom box from Lowe’s

So I finally bought a new tool box, just the bottom box from craftsman, I went to Lowe’s and paid 200$ for it.Seemed like the same material than the one I got like 4 years ago at Sears.
Anyways do you guys have any feedback on the craftsman screwdriver set form Lowe’s, I almost bought it for 27$ but I wasn’t sure on the quality.

Which screwdriver set? Are we talking about the new made in Taiwan hard handled screwdrivers or the made in China soft handled ones? The USA made craftsman hard handled screwdrivers were never that great to begin with, especially with more recently made ones. The new hard handled screwdrivers can't be that bad considering that the Pittsburgh Pro equivalent is getting decent reviews. As for the soft handled screwdrivers, tool teardowns on YouTube made a video on those and the findings suggested that it is a bit better than your average cheap screwdrivers. Either way, the new Craftsman screwdrivers are overpriced for what they are. With the sheer number of options out there, I wouldn't be buying Craftsman. If you want a relatively inexpensive USA made option, I'd go with the Tekton soft handled screwdrivers instead of trying to get a hold of old Craftsman screwdrivers. If you are looking for quality and are willing to pay a bit more, there are a lot of German options.

Not sure on the screwdrivers, but I have that same bottom chest. I've had it for a couple months. So far very pleased with it. Main components are made in the USA, nice styling, functions well and fairly sturdy.

That’s the same box I bought Friday from Lowe’s, except mine was marked down to $150 because it has a dent in the rear lower corner vertical box section. Can’t see the dent when it’s against the wall any way.

Congrats on the new box.

I started to shy away from Cman screwdrivers awhile ago. I can't say if they got any better or worse since then.

Get some European screwdrivers on sale. For $35 you can get an 8 pack of USAG. Once you go old world you won’t go back.

Tekton just came out with a nice set of hard handle USA made screwdrivers. You can get all 16 for just $75. HJE has a NOS Proto yellow acetate drivers for $90 I believe, too

The acetate-handle screwdrivers ("classic" Craftsman style) are made in Taiwan now, according to a Craftsman product rep answering questions on the Lowe's site. Unknown if the quality has improved from cheapies manufactured by Western Forge.

The "bi-material" handle drivers are manufactured in China, according to the same source, so unknown quality there.
