Got a new induction heating machine!

Thing is pretty cool. Seems to heat mild steel a lot more readily than Titanium. Perhaps I need to build a smaller coil. Target material is .188” od. Coil that came with it is about 1.75” I’d. Any body play with these things?

eBay have some up to 3kw ones with power supply for about $300 no casing

I thought the material had to be ferrous for induction?

I think the coil is tuned so, you can’t change that easily

Not sure about Titanium on that. Seems to work. Video on Superior Flux website shows doing Ti. Did a Ti part, just had to have the power much higher. Still learning. Coil is just a copper tube, can make any size/shape
