This is called the kreepstool, what do you think? I think it's mainly for detailing which I do sometimes, but it's got slots to put brake cleaners and other tools as well. It's got 6 skating wheels with springs.

here are a couple pictures along with my craftsman tractor style stool

I have seen the kreepster online for $180-$240 before, I saw it at costco today for $85 so I thought that is a reasonable price to try it out. As far as I can tell this costco version doesn't have the brakes. The welds are not that pretty in some places but it is made of aluminum and light weight, it goes between the slabs expansion joints no problem where the craftsman has some issues. It might be a cheapen down version due to the price but the specs are all the same.

It is higher than the craftsman stool so I am hoping it will work as a chair with my workbench, didn't have time to try it yet.

Any body have the kreepster creeper, still way too expensive at $180 on the costco site.

That's pretty neat. Like you said it would be great for brakes and detailing...I was thinking it would be perfect for motorcycle work. My back aches every time I work on it. I've thought about a lift, but this creepstool has multi use...hmmmm

Bike lifts are so cheap, I wouldn't think about working without one.

I'm planning on two stools, one squatter thats real small and low, and basically an office chair with no arms or back, but height adjustable. I have a special "tall" chair from a lab bench to use on my own lab height bench.

Completely agree. I picked up the Craftsman Professional Motorcycle lift a while back when it was on sale for $149 (It may still be on sale). It works extremely well with my Road King.

You have to be careful though when lowering the bike. The jack has a very low threshold and can just drop the bike to the jack stops. A little finesse gets around that though.

I bought a creeper at AutoZone years ago that you flip a lever and it folds up into a stool. At the time I paid something like $45 for it and I have had it for a few years and it works great all except the damn wheels wear out about once a year. I now have more in wheels that the thing cost initially. I would like one of those Kreepstools though. Mine is always in a sitting position more than it is in a creeper position.

I was at the local farm store & seen the clarke one for 19.00 so brought it home. The lever to elevate the seat doesn't work but for what I do I'd leave it in the lowest position anyway so it works for me. Someday it would be nice to get one of the better ones but ordered a dogbone creeper this month to replace the cheap one so slowly but surely I'm getting there.

i work with the dogbone at our motorpool, they are great. except 2 things
1. if it stops on a rock or a wrench it will hop over and hit you in the head.
2. with the raised casters it provides a good head rest but the cap srews that hold the casters on will dig into the back of your head.
other than that they are great, huge casters easy to clean and extreamly tough.

Have you gotten it yet and if so, how do you like it?

No, unfortunatly the place I ordered it from was out of stock and said it would ship around the 15th. Looking forward to not getting stopped everytime I hit a bb sized pebble with it out on the pad, I currently have 2 creepers, one has the angled plastic wheels & dates back to the 70's, the other has 6 hard wheels that constantly need to be retightened (thinking some locktite) so the bone should be like going from a yugo to a cadillac.

With the old style creepers, how many had long hair or longer hair back then and rolled the creeper only to grab a wheelfull of hair and try to pull you under? I don't miss those days. And it always seemed like whichever way you tried to roll to get your hair out it was the wrong way:lol_hitti

I like that.

I've got an older Craftsman stool and creeper that I bought 12-15 years ago.

The casters do kind of stink, and need replacing, but for that many years of service, I'm not complaining. I will put larger casters on both, probably some 4" this time, instead of the 2.5" that came on them. I don't do much car work, mostly trucks and tractors, so being able to roll over crud on the floor is a big plus.

Why don't you try this one rolling stool!

I went to that link. Are you referring to the "Rackatak". That roller saves me on the detailing side of things, especially polishing on very low stance exotics. Works great on any flooring jobs too. I also have the one the OP has, and I use it to roll around polishing vehicles to. The "Kreepstool" has it's advantages because I can put so much of my polishing tools(pads, spurs, brushes, towels, etc) in it and not have to get up. I used the tractor style seat forever and I still use it quite a bit because I like being able to adjust up and down and it's not quite as bulky. I do love the wheels on my "Kreepstool" though, I can run over anything. Got mine at Autogeek.net. Can't remember how much I paid but I'm sure I coud have got it cheaper from a company that specializes in garage equpment.

nice stool... have seen it before.

I got this one for a Christmas gift a few years ago:

I always ended up kneeling on the garage floor, and this helps take the load off of my knees. Works great.

Hopefully, it won't be needed that much, as soon as my lift comes in, and I get the rest of my new workshop set up like I want it.
