I use one of those at work for torquing wheels. They are really god and I rarely ever have issues

They dont hold their calibration any longer then any other style. They just arnt effected by leaving it cranked up. A micrometer style will damage the spring and throw the calibration off. If you wind them back down they wont loose calibration. I have 20+ yr old snap-on torque wrenchs that are with in the allowable limits. I sent them out for calibration anyway so they are perfect. Split beams are good torque wrenches. But i prefer micrometer style.

Actually, flex head would be handy for drivetrain work...real handy.
I have the same exact one. I love it. Not only do I not have to worry about leaving it set (which I don't) but adjustments can be made much quicker. And yes, it's a flex head but it doesn't flex that much. IIRC, it's 10 degrees.

I too have that same torque wrench. I use it every day to earn my living. It is invaluable to me for torquing lug nuts. It has been my experience that it is no more rugged than any other 1/2 drive torque wrenches and mine lost calibration after it was dropped while loaned out. It was off quite badly. Now I have it checked regularly and re-calibrated at the first sign of trouble.
On a side note mine came back re-calibrated but feeling terrible with a tinny little "click" and a rough, weird feel to the adjuster. Sent it back immediately and 2 weeks later it came back good as new.

thanks, I guess I won't loan it out unless I trust the person. I already stopped loaning tools to one person. he was pissed when he couldnt use my multimeter for the 4th time.
If I loan a tool I go with it anymore...

I have this same torque wrench, I got it for $100, and thanks for reminding me, I need to get it calibrated. I don't have access to a truck at the moment. Any ideas / experience with where to send it and the cost?

You sure about that? Snap-on owns CDI Torque which also makes a very similar torque wrench.
By the way I've used the same torque wrench for 3 years and it's been great.
You are correct sir. I should have worded that differently. From what I've read, Precision Instruments used to make them for SO until SO bought CDI.
