Yea, but how do you get them on closeout? I was just stating that dink might know the process or the stuff that goes on behind the scenes.

Don't worry Jim, we listen... :)

Got mine...very smooth ratchet, feels good in your hand. Must say thought, its a beast, probably a little big for some tight spots.

I recieved mine, and it will be my first non flex head 3/8" unit. First impressions are that it is a nice unit, a little on the large side, but so far functions decently. I also just purchased one of his 1/2" units and will be reviewing both here shortly along with a continuation of the wrench review.

If you missed out on the earlier auction here is a link to the current ones for both the 3/8 and the 1/2 drive ratchets. If they are not both showing it means the auction has closed. Wait a day of so and he usually reposts a new auction.

Got mine in both 3/8" and 1/2". Very nice, but a little on the heavy side.

Anyone know where to get the 1/4" version for cheap?

Just a general observation. It is amazing how much interest and traffic a year old, resurrected thread generated, and how many ratchets got sold (myself included on all counts).:lol_hitti

I was wondering the same thing. If anyone finds the 1/4" model, please let us know.

Saw this thread lurking before I every registered. Ordered Friday night, got it yesterday priority mail. Great quality. Pretty sure it will become my favorite ratchet!!

Sure would like to have the 1/4" drive also, but at a comparable price.

The one on the ENCO site is not the same as the 3/8" & 1/2" models currently offered on FleaBay.

Different design on the handle.

Are you referring to this one:
www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRIT?PMAKA=307-0563&PMPXNO=5740799&PARATPG=INLMK32

It sure looks the same to me, but as I said, and it shows, it's discontinued.
Sorry, the one in the "all-cordless.com" is the one I was saying didn't look like the others ... got the two different sites confused.

You are absolutely correct, the one in the ENCO link definitely looks like the ones offered on FleaBay.

My bad.

Definetly. Im wondering if they are getting ready to redesign the ratchet line. I know they dont make these big dawgs like this anymore, or at least newer catalog's arnt showing them

I noticed a few lots of the 1/4" models on there, with any luck they'll end up on ebay so we can round out the set :)

If the logistics wouldn't be difficult, heck we could get together and bid on the entire lot. Sort of a group buy. Seems like we pretty much have done that anyway....only paid a bit more for them.

I suspect that is the case, unfortunately. I don't have any information to that effect, just a gut feeling.

I bought ten 1" PROTO wrenches from the ebay guy last night (you guys bought all the ratchets lol). I don't know what I'm going to do with them, but at least they are Made in USA.

The wrenches arrived today in a mangled box but unscathed. There was a "Arrived in poor condition to the local post office-sorry" sticker on the box. I get a lot of those.
They are definitely not the prettiest wrenches, but are well-balanced and have a nice "ring". They do not say "PROTO" on them, just "Challenger U.S.A."
They would make nice stocking-stuffers for next Christmas...;)

I can't believe you bought 10 1" wrenches; aside from stocking stuffers, what can you do with 10 1" wrenches?

Lesseee....1 for the home tool box, 1 for the truck tool box, 1 for the work tool box, 1 for the daughter's tool box. That's four.

1 for my BIL, who is always borrowing my wrenches. 1 for my niece's husband who is a mechanic for the local trash co., but has 6 kids and needs all the help he can get. 1 for the other niece's husband, who is a fabricator and all-around nice guy. He brews some good beer, too. 1 for the truck mechanic's dad, who is not the sharpest guy, but a truck driver and genuinely entertaining.

That's eight. 1 more for my wife to keep under her seat to brain would-be carjackers with, and 1 for my son, who won't know what to do with it, but I figure he should be included.

That's ten.

Besides needing 10 1" wrenches, who needs 35 ratchets???? Break it down and justify that....:headscrat :wtf:

If I bought 15, I probably would send a couple to you, as advance payment for the "when you die" thing...you can't be too careful, LOL...

ImportTuner "All the ratchets are different" I think I used that one on guns once.

Just wondering when this thread makes it into the hall of fame. It may need a new category. Any nominations.

Curious on anyones opinions on their PROTO ratchets after some use and abuse? I am in need of a couple more 1/2" drives and there seems to be tons of them (long handle, industrial finish) on eBay going for $9.99+SH.

I love my 3/8". I've been using it exclusively since I got it.
