About 40 years ago I got one of those plastic tip Snap-On hammers, that has one face made of hard plastic and the other tip is rubber. Apparently the rubber tip just got dried up and brittle over time, and it finally just broke into bits. I wasn't sure if Snap-On would cover warrantee replacement of hammers but I called their customer service anyway. I was just hoping to get a replacement tip, but they said they would would just send me a whole new hammer. Fine by me.
My exact hammer is long out of production so they sent the modern equivalent. It was back ordered for the longest time, but it finally showed up in the mail yesterday.
I should mention that I had several phone calls with them as I was checking on shipping progress, and every time a polite and friendly human being picked up the phone after just a few rings, I didn't have to deal with AI or getting put on hold. So, I give them five stars for customer service.
