Aha! Yall knew you had no business over here ;) :lol_hitti

You weren't far away from being North Mexico or South Quebec, or even the western part of the Kaiser's empire.... so maybe you might show a little affection for the country that gave you your mother tongue.... although ya went and mangled that still! ;)

Head for Goodwill/Salvation Army store, or search the back of your wife's closet. The right leather purse could have a section that already has two sides of the sheath made and sewn, plus a flap with snap that can be cut off and resewn in the proper place. Since you would only need to sew a few inches of seam, get a nail or a real awl to make your dotted line and go at this with a speedy stitcher...thread can be the right stuff from a store or doubled up dental floss.
Double points if you do all work with the axe itself, a needle split out of a bone, and thread from the dead squirrel out in the street there...

And...hey...look at the magazine pouch on that rig in post 43! Already done, but you'd probably have to pry it from her cold, dead fingers to get it! :)

1. wash lumps out of tin can
2. cut ends out of almost tin can
3. squash tin can to fit axe
4. poke hole in one end of squashed tin can
5. tie old shoe lace through hole in tin can, tie shoe lace around axe handle

Or, just toss it in the back of the pick-up with the saw, saw gas, and saw oil. When the axe gets damp, the leather holds the moisture and causes rust. No leather, very little rust.
