I have been working on a guy that had a Jet 18" bandsaw and a grizzly 3hp shaper in his barn. I got the call a couple of days ago. Our last conversation was about working out the deal. He wanted to have a bandsaw but did not have 220v in his barn. So I had a old Delta Milwaukee 14" saw that I did not use. So I told him I would give him the 110v bandsaw I have and he bit.:rocker:

So for $500. I got the bandsaw and the shaper with extra blades and a lot of shaper bits. The shaper is 220v and the bandsaw motor is 110v 220v! I guess he did not want to rewire it? :dunno:

Knowledge is power. I have done that too, plus I have bought many 3 phase power tools for almost free and then popped a single phase motor in them because people didn't know they could change out the motor.

Because I've read your thread, I have to educate myself on shapers. I guess I'll read the threads by oldcarguy.

Oh and good trade you made there!

Wood Shapers are a great tool, from raised door panels to all kinds of moulding and window frames, handrails so many things can be made with them and the right cutters!
