A few weeks ago, I saw a listing pop up on Letgo for a Lista cabinet/toolbox setup. It was listed for $1500, and looked to be two six-drawer SC900 cabinets attached side by side and then placed in a mobile base. It also had a double width shelf cabinet that was then attached on top of the cabinets. The listing was about two hours away from me and priced a bit too high for me, so I didn’t even contact the guy.

A few months later, I saw the same Lista cabinets posted for $700, and this time they were posted only about 10 minutes away from me! I messaged him and learned that the cabinets were unused, and basically brand new. I asked him about the dimensions, and he told me the whole thing was 4’8” wide, and 7’2” tall. After getting the go-ahead from my wife, we agreed on $500 for the whole thing!

We agreed to meet that Saturday. He had to go pick up the tool boxes, which were stored at his parent’s house. A few hours before we were supposed to meet, he texts me, and tells me that the boxes, which had been kept outside and covered in a tarp, had gotten rained on when a storm blew the tarp off. Some light rusting had just started on some places where the powder coating didn’t get to. One small scratch had a bit of rust, and apparently his dad had tried to clean one side of the lower cabinets, but used the wrong cleaning product. The cleaner kind of discolored the side of the cabinet, but it’s really not super noticeable. Other than that, it’s in beautiful condition. Since it’s not exactly in new condition as advertised, I was able to bring the price down to $450. Delivered.

When he got here, I was pretty surprised at how big it all was in person. Once we pulled the cabinets, I was pretty shocked at the height of them. Turns out, they aren’t the SC900 cabinets I though they were - they’re SC1050 (39.75” vs. 45.25” tall).

He told me that he got them from a hospital he worked for, for free, after Lista double-shipped. All he had to do was haul them off. Lucky guy.

I’m hoping to eventually separate the two SC cabinets and make a workbench out of them. Luckily, I’m about 6’4” or 6’5”, so the height increase should still be workable. Not quite sure how I’m going to incorporate the DW top cabinet yet, as it is only 33” tall. Super excited about being able to pick this up.

There's a local machine tool company that has Listas set up for perishable tooling and etc. in a mobile truck. I've always wanted some Listas since the first day I saw them.

You did well, friend! I would love that setup!

Thanks! I think it’ll work pretty great!

Yeah they’re pretty heavy duty. I bet that really eats into their gas mileage too.

At approx. 350 lbs a cabinet, empty, the company must be making a ton of money to haul Lista cabinets around in a truck.

Very nice. Gotta love Listas, especially the newer drawer suspension w/ plastic roller-bearing.

Look up Hemly tool. We bought inserts, mills, taps, drills, burr blades. etc....he had it all on the truck. Now imagine how much inventory one could keep in those Listas. Plus they had two or three shelves that ran around the entire inside of the box truck.

Thanks everyone. Haha I’m just to happy to have been able to pick them up. Also, forgot to mention, the drawers all have 3 24” dividers, and a bag of brand new smaller dividers that fit in those!

Still thinking of how to setup the workbench. A 7 or 8 foot long with just the SC cabs? Or try a 12 foot with the shelf cabinet in there too?

I can't see a 7'2" cabinet height being a problem since you can probably fingertip over 8' at your height.

That is really a cool setup. As a deep unit, it is probably not an ideal puller cab., but I am sure you'll find good use.
