Got my Permit....ready for Inspection?

Hiya Folks,
I should have my permit finalized this afternoon for bit of work I've already done on my garage (ahem, yes, I have already roughed in everything...shhhh). Anyway, just looking for any tips or advice on what to expect on a rough in. I realize all inspectors are different so it's a very open question. What I've done is added another panel which is all buttoned up (already reviewed via the GJ Electrical Masters), added a number of receptacles, and have added all new lighting circuits. Grounds are made in all boxes (where applicable), I've got my panel schedules printed and in both panels, I think everything is stapled well, Hots/Neutrals are all connected with pigtails ready for devices where appropriate, disconnect for mini-split is in place, Whites are labelled Black for 240V, etc.... Just curious as to what else they might look for? Any "gotchas" to watch out for?

What size wire are you taping the white ends? Some AHJs apparently don't like wire smaller than X-awg to be re-labeled as phase... I thought it was around the #6 mark?

Or am I wrong on this?

If this is all new wiring, why not run black / red combos (e.g. 12/3 rather than 12/2) for 240V rather than taping whites?

When part of a cable assembly, it is permitted to remark white conductors.

Why shovel money on a unneeded neutral for a 240V circuit? 12/3 is considerably more expensive then 12/2.

It's actually a Concrete Encased Electrode and was signed off as part of the original permit.

10ga (for my 30A ckts) and I have one at 6ga. But as Norcal pointed out, it's a whole lot cheaper to put black on the white wire vs. buying 10-3 particularly as I'd have an extra wire "wasted".
