Well Grainger called today to say the my toolbox was in so as soon as I got home from work I went and picked it up. Although I havnt used it much, my first impression is amazement that It is built so well for the price it was. It is made in Canada and even the droor liners are USA made. The craftsman ball bearing units for around the same price are of absolutley no comparison. The droors also lock into place with a little extra push on them. Well now onto the pics.

Got my GP impact sockets and Snapon impact gun earlier this week.

Also started building a new workbench yesterday.

Awesome. I was considering Proto/Blackhawk for when I go to buy a box, this is good to see. How does it compare to Snap Ons? Anything you dont like about it?

Very nice!

Damn do I ever need a bigger toolbox...

My Snap-On guy is doing an offer on one of the larger KRA boxes, top and bottom, trade in whatever you have then pay it off in three years at $20/week. No interest, no ********. Pretty incredible.

I'm not sure I could live with the drawer pull being in the center of some of the larger drawers, though...seems kind of odd.

my snap on guy sold me KRL1001B for half price plus trade in (small toolboxes). i paid it once because most of technicians work with me said best to pay off first or second than payment for almost 4 years.... then one year later i need buy chest so i got used (15 years old) KR1201 for much cheap and it come with lifetime warranty. i paid it once. then i dont make any payment. i would recommend you to save your money and pay when you have enough money. sometime snap on guy can make diffcult for you if snap on guy have problem with business... or try make extra money like have a interesting on it...

i suggest you to stay out of interesting from tool truck because few of my techs friends still stuck in interesting system for long time like 4 years or more....

True words of great advice. I learned years ago, time payments were for houses and land. For all else you try to get to where you can pay cash. Now to get my wife to understand that.

To be honest I can't compare it to a snapon/mac/matco box because I have never owned or even used one. I'm sure they are better just going by price, but this box is very very nice. Much better than the craftsman ball bearing boxes. If I had to find a complaint it would be that its a painted finish and not powdercoated. Although that will probably never be an issue for me since it will not be moving around. for the top and bottom box the total was just over $1200 with tax which I think is a steal for the quality that you get.

i own the snap on toolboxes and have lifetime warranty so i dont worry about my toolboxes that need new parts and i dont need to pay for new parts.... i paid both (KR1201 and KRL1001) less than for new KRL1201 chest. both are used.

The only thing I have that is financed is my home. Everything else is cash. Of course, I don't have much...:( I drive a 20-year old pickup, and my wife's vehicle is the "new" car, a '93 with over 200K on it.

I often wondered how my neighbors could afford to build nice homes and have garages full of toys. The answer is...they can't. One neighbor has 3 new $30K vehicles, a boat, several bikes, quads, etc. He works 6 days/week and spends over 5 hours each day commuting. He is in debt to his eyeballs, and one missed paycheck would mean disaster.

Not for me, thanks.

Nice looking box. For those of you that want a killer tool box take a look at the Lista stuff. I have some and think it is the best. Beats snap-on in my opinion and most likely is cheaper. They have full (real) bearings that the drawers slide on and have full extension drawers. Pretty cool stuff.
