Got my wrench set I purchased in today, and used a couple on an engine build tonight. I don't know why I didn't buy Snap On combination wrenches sooner, so much better than my SK's and Craftsman! Of course, this forum led to me ultimately considering them again.... :bounce:

Snap On's "standard" length is so much longer than the Craftsmans, it's even more apalling in person.

They are almost too nice to use, almost

I purchased the large OEXM725 set (8mm-36mm).

Nice set; they are a real pleasure to use, the extra leverage really helps! While everyone seems to have their opionion about Snapon; I enjoy using mine! :)

Wow, Those big ones are nice. I can't afford to have Snap on tools above 19mm!!!:lol_hitti

These 5 together are worth over $500.00!!! WOW

Very nice, I have been happy with mine although sometimes I think I should have gotten the flank drive plus.

Very nice set. I love my SO wrenches. I only have up to 22mm, but I have up to 1 5/8 in standard.

Yea, I just purchased the SAE equivalent set today (1/4-1 5/8).

I might look into a smaller set of flank drive plus if I can get a good deal on a set. I appreciate all the feedback on this forum, helped me convince myself to purchase

Yes, they were quite expensive but I know it's the last set I'll ever buy. :)

Thats the thing about good tools, they last a lifetime. I love Snap On wrenches. I've been trying to buy a used metric set so far no find in my price range.

walrus, do not discount buying your wrenches used; one at a time! I have a set up to 19MM that I "pieced" together, finding them at the flea, at pawn shops and trading/buying on this site in the classifieds section! They are not pristine, they have wear, show scratches, they have been used for work and I probably paid less then $100 this way.... good luck, it can be done! :) Used wrenches are already "broken in" and you don't have to deal with the "new tennis shoes" syndrome; just use 'em and they are ready for work! :)

I agree, I buy my stuff to use. I could care if they're scratched or scuffed as long as they work:)

Nice set, yep the standart lenght is fine...know it only from Hazet too...all others are to short to crack a nut.

Own SO + 10-19mm all above is Hazet. Stronger and much cheaper...

One thing I think could be helpful is if we establish some sort of database of wrench lengths to assist us in comparing brands and lines within brands together. Wouldn't be too hard. Just establishing a standardized measurement method and that's it.

jc, I was going to do a 1/2" wrench comparison at some point with all the measurements and was going to ask other people to chip in with measurements of stuff I don't have. I could probably get to that sometime next week...

nothing wrong with used as long as they are in good shape when you get them

of course there is nothing like that new crome smell
