got my TENG tools

got them last week, and i'll get this out of the way now, they are made in Taiwan.

they sent 1/4" , 3/8" , and 1/2" sets. I haven't had a chance to use any of the sockets yet as they are metric, but they look nice. I've been working on my 71 f100 and I've been using the 3/8 ratchet and the extensions. the ratchet is pretty nice, comfortable grip, and the action is smooth. as soon as I use them more i'll post more about how I like them and post better pics.

That satin is beautiful.

I picked up Facom 440 wrench sets last year and now I'm on a big satin kick. I think satin is underrated until one uses it and then they can really appreciate it.

There's a select few on this forum that tout satin and I always kind of discounted it. And now I am one of the few.

That is a beautiful looking set. Those are really the core stuff one needs -- no filler there. Even includes extensions and universal joints.

I have Teng stuff and it is a good Taiwan tool brand, They are alittle under Toptul on somethings but very usable overall.

Looks like there are not enough 3/8 drive tools. Like deep sockets.

Satin is highly underrated by consumers and manufacturers. When it gets oily it can be gripped better is one of the advantages.

Manufacturers don't make a whole lot of it. When they do, companies like Proto and the old Armstrong used to only make standard length wrenches in satin finish and not long pattern. That would make me not buy them. I want the long ones. Satin has always been lumped in the consumer and homeowner grade tools and not the professional grades. Shame really. Satin tools look like they are ready to work and polished look like they are just trailer queens.

I'm a satin and ergonomic design tool guy too .
half satin half polished sockets with nurl ring at the transition are the bomb, satin wrenches like stahlwille, facom and toptul are great, stahlwille being incredibly durable too.

I was just there today and I saw the satin nut removers and really wished they had some plain sockets with that type of finish.

Satin is more common in Europe and tools like Gedore and Stahlwille prove that some of the best stuff is satin finished.

In the US, polished are the top dogs in terms of what the manufacturers put into them.

That is amazing. I would guess that 3/8 is by far the most commonly used size in the US, at least for automotive repair. 1/4 only available in small sizes and low leverage and 1/2 won't fit into the space.

Just wait on CRAFTSMAN they coming to Lowes and other outfits - Stanley spent $900 MILLION. It will get back to where it was.

Now only if they make some 6 point boxend combo wrenches in satin, I would be be all over that. Found my 14mm 6p RP useful when removing brake line from my calipers.

They are right, in Europe the most common is 1/4 or 1/2 3/8 is less common.
It is more like note that in GJ the 3/8 is the most used one I decided to try buying one and a dice game.
It is combertido in my favorite.

The last couple of SEMA shows I spent a great deal of time checking out their stuff. I really like the finishes and have wondered about the quality. I've been subsidizing my fetish for satin with collecting Toptul every chance I get. I luv that finish and that's a sweet start you got going on, congrats.

LX you're killing me. SONIC was at SEMA hawking their tools? That's a brilliant concept: Introduce the American market to your products at the largest industry trade show in the country. Man, I should make that recommendation to TOPTUL. If those damn Americans could just see the quality of their products up close and personal and maybe pick up the tools and feel them they could sell a boatload of tools over here. OH SNAP! I've already made that suggestion about 50 times and was told to go stand in the corner.
