When I went to TECH school the tools you got with your tuition included metric and standard sockets. I have not had use for the standard sockets as of yet. Who's to say he's not looking to get raid of socket sets he won't use (standard). The the impact is another story.

And my $ .02 on the government subsides we all pay for as taxpayers is the government is buying there votes with the money there giving away. And they make it easy to get on assistance and don't give people any reason to work to get off.

Sorry man...I didn't mean to come off so strong....it just kinda hit a nerve. All his loans were private. He busted his *** working 3rd shift 40+ hours week and went to school too and foots his own bills.

i respect that, as i too was not eligible for much of pell grants due to income. gi bill had some errors and i decided to foot my bill the same way he has.

at the end of the day, atleast half of the "voucher's" value is rolled into an ever increasing tuition rate. the other half is offset by the snap on industrial discount used to lure you into the brand.

never sold a tool in such a manner, but have helped several young techs start their career by buying some of their items so they can go get something more useful, did not resale for profit. they often show up with a few brand new "voucher items" such as impact/torque wrench/few impact sockets/snappy prybar set/screwdrivers/or air ratchet, and nothing else. not everything from the list, but a few select items.

others finish the courses, only to find out they have debt and can still only qualify for a lube tech job, and need to leave the field for a more profitable career that can actually pay off the tremendous debt for their mistake.

His school didn't include any tools.....all he got was a discount from Snap-On. The tools he has got either came out of my stash(extras) or he bought with his own money. He never bought into the Snap-On line of credit BS.
