Got something, need ideas...

I rescued a moving part from a machine, before it went to a junkyard.

it's about 12" wide, with a slide that moves about 20".
These are precision rolling bearings.

It has been standing for some time, but the rust isn't that severe, and can be easily cleaned up.

Any ideas what to use it for?

That's very close to its original purpose, it wasn't a press but a milling/deburring station in a semi-automatic machine.

Any other ideas? I'd hate to see this go to the scrap bin, but it's been standing in my garage for already 10 yrs, either it's being used now or it's gotta go.

If you do scrap,it then unbolt the rails and the linear bearings and save those or sell those.
The linear rails and bearings can be used to make a cnc plasma table

True, but I still think this one deserves an exception. It is extremely well built, has precision linear bearings and is worth a lot more as a whole as in parts.
Would be worth a whole lot to the right person and the right application. Unfortunately, this isn't me...

Put it on eBay. There's always someone looking for stuff like that. If I had that, I'd probably be scheming to make some sort of proprietary machine with it.

Thompson linear motion bearing.
I have a couple, in the process of designing one to be used in a cold saw setup.
Originally there was 12 or 15 of those type bearing in the space shuttle.
When I worked there I worked with some of the engineers and the specs written in the catalog never matched what the device was supposed to do.
Add a screw and you can turn it into simple milling table on a drill press

The shipping will cost more than what you will get for it. If you go to a machinery resale place they will have them.
