got this air compressor for free

The other day, a neighbor of mine asked me if I wanted an air compressor. It was his fathers', who passed away this last March. His father made it from scratch, using an air compressor from a 1956 Ford station wagon, Craftsman motor, homemade tank, & misc fittings. This is very quiet & reaches 120 psi. He then tells me he has to empty everything from his fathers' garage for the new buyer. We went there and there were a few aluminum ladders, misc stuff, but what really caught my eye was a fairly large Athol bench vice. He also has a storage unit with other things, which he said includes an "old" 2 ton floor jack. He is GIVING all this away & whatever I don't want or take, he will throw away. He did say he is keeping a metal band saw & told me he had already sold a 5' metal lathe.

I asked him if there was anything I could give him, but he refused. I will get him gift cards for dinner, movies, etc for he & his wife.

Cool little compressor. I like mine that is made out of a ac compressor because it is so quiet. For blowing things clean its great but air tools are out of the question.

Cool...I had an old '76 Jeep CJ-5 for a while that had an AC pump that the previous owner turned into an air compressor....He then welded up a tubular bumper that became the air tank. Didn't hold a lot of air but was able to blow up a tire or two.
