stopped at walmart and found my way to the clearance row... they had these cordless 1/4 drive skil ratchets... are they worth a hoot or not? only gave $20.00 for it, thought I would take a chance... thought it might work in some places my drill driver will not fit under dashes etc...

I have one, picked it up cheap from woot.com
I used it a lot when I put together my Gladiator cabinets and I didn't have any issues.

I remember when they first came out a few years ago, they were clearanced, then a few months later I saw them on shelves again at regular price. I'm guessing they came out with a slightly more powerful version and clearanced the weaker ones. Anybody else notice the same thing? I never bothered to check the amps or volts or anything. You probably have the stronger version.

IIRC someone on here got one at HD for $5 (the older version)

I did use it today after charging for about half the day... it does not have a lot of torque, but for what i intended it to be used for, should be fine... it does also work as a large ratchet manualy(even mentioned in manual as ok)

all in all, satisfied so far

When I read this post I got up off my couch and walked the 1/4 mile over to the super Walmart. Unfortunately, these wrenches are still $49 there (on sale from $59).

I normally avoid Walmart (the only things I buy there are 9mm ammo and synthetic motor oil), but I already have one of these wrenches and I really like it. It's great for running fasteners in or out. I still use a real wrench to tighten or loosen things.

But last weekend I grabbed the wrench out of the charger, and it was non-responsive. Clicking the button does nothing. The green light comes on in the charger, but the wrench doesn't work.

I want another one, but apparently my price point is somewhere between $49 and $19. And I don't feel like going back to Walmart to check on an updated price.

I guess I'll assume it can handle the bolts and make the trip. I hate Walmart, maybe it's my add or the lights but I always feel almost high when I walk in...
I hate it, I feel so disoriented
