None of locations are close to me. All the auctions that I have watched, sell for enough that when you add shipping, its not much of deal. However, if your in drving distance, you could get some auctions at a decent price.

A friend of mine bought a deuce and a half from them 5 or 6 years ago, he didn't have any problems during the transaction but there is some extra paperwork to get it titled and registered. We had fun hauling firewood with it until it cracked a piston.
As far as tools go, occasionally you see the military General Mechanic's Tool Kits up for bid. If you can find one without a bunch of missing tools it makes a cool road box.

IIRC it was in a museum and it closed. There were several of them and they were in reasonable shape.
That said, Government Liquidation: it is vital to personally inspect, or inspect by someone who's judgement you absolutely trust, before bidding! Do not bid based on pictures, or description(s)!

Ive gotten a few things off govliquidations (federal gov) and yeah you really need to inspect most of the stuff has been left outside and ends up being junk. Ive lucked out with a aluminum boat trailer and a blast cabinet. I like govdeals better, its run by the same company but is your local state and county surplus. I got a zero turn mower off them last year and it turned out to be great, for the price I was expecting to have to do some rebuilding. Lately though a lot of this stuff has been going for what you can get a better shape item on craigslist, guess its the thrill of the auction.

I bought a 5 ton M925A2 from them about 4 years ago. It was from Hawaii and only had 3K miles on a Cummins 8.3 turbo diesel engine. With the price of the auction fees involved and SF97 which you need to title it was still under 4K. At the time they didn't sell this model very often, but now you see them all over. Huge truck, sitting in the cab driving down the road you will be looking out the window at the roof of a semi. Every once in a while you will see them sell a M1070 Truck Tractor, which looks totally awesome, but way out of my price range when they sell.
there is a guy at the local flea that guys from some place. i dont know where. he has mass amounts of craftsman and armstrong. lots of old hammers that are still useable, but have been put out of service. he is there every week with something different. must be making money. i know i spend with him just about on a weekly basis
