Somebody in their shipping department needs to be slapped. I ordered 28 different items, some in quantities of more than one so about 50 pieces in total and it came out to about $48 for the items and another $15 for shipping. So far I've gotten 18 emails all with different tracking numbers.

Grainger is funny that way. Part of the problem is that they ship from multiple locations. I had a similiar issue. Some items came from South Carolina and others from Chicago. One thing is for sure, the prices could not be beat for what I ordered.

Had everything shipped to store for pickup and I've gotten 5 emails now notifying me that they're ready, seems like each time an item is pulled or arrived I get an email.

Missed out on those cutoff wheels for a buck, and by the time I was ready to check out several things were already gone. Great deals on casters and pegboard clips for right around a buck.

Fastenal is also has great deals on some stuff, just go to the site and search for "clearance item" then expand all departments and open the ones you're interested in new tabs. They have 44lb spools of E70 .45 wire for $15 and TONS of 6011/6013/7018 rods in 11lb boxes for six bucks! Tons of nuts and bolts super cheap and other good stuff like welding gloves, helmets, etc.

I agree on the filtering of items which are not available any more. I just spend an hour or two going through everything and may decide to pull the trigger on a few things.

Grainger continuously has clearance sales -- Just check the website's button that says "Clearance" and browse what's available.

In that respect, this event is nothing special, there is clearance merchandise all the time. What is special is if you happen to look for something and catch it before anyone else does -- then you can get a killer deal. I've bought all sorts of things there on the cheap. The problem is that the merchandise I want is almost never local, stock is always picked over quickly by the hunters, and the quantities are always limited so you have to ship them from multiple locations, which ruins the deal unless you need something big that is actually available.

They tend to have a lot of phantom deals too -- the last one really turned me off -- it was a Generac whole house generator that the site said was available but I couldn't actually get it.

I used to monitor the clearance sales all the time but I got fed up with the phantom deals and stopped looking. Much to my surprise when I looked at my order history, it says I haven't ordered in years. I didn't realize it had been that long.

that would be taking away the bait. they want you to see 1500 items to lure you into browsing them all. it's all about the illusory deal.

Managed to score a pair of bates boots for $31 reg $150 although I can't imagine anyone paying that but for $31 they'll make me feel better when I scuff them up, spill paint on them, etc.

Scored some more pegboard hooks and clamps, hard to argue with prices compared to anything else I've seen anywhere

Also picked up some more carhartt socks, too good of price to pass on too, these are the caddies of socks and they last/wear very well.

Grabbed some more solder/crimp lugs too, at around 50 cents each I decided to stock up on some.

Picked up some Bates boots, reg $150-$180 for $31 and $37

Even though they're made in china the fit and finish was good and they're comfortable, Worth the price paid for sure. The EW isn't as wide as I thought they would be so if you have a wider foot don't worry the EW is comparable to a M in most regular width of other brands.

I've been trying to build up my hardware collection lately, so I'm considering picking up some of the hardware that they have at $1 per 10

I picked this one up a few weeks ago. Its a regular pin'd 1/2" drive if you follow the mfg PN around the internet. That what I usually do with odd listings like that. They usually get the MFG PN right.

Added about 2500 pieces of SAE nuts, both regular and nylock, and bolts from 1/4-1/2" in NC and NF in grade 2/5/8in both Zinc and non for $100, their list prices would have put this at near $2K which I know is high but compared to boltdepot.com it still saved me at least $800

Just placed a similar order for the same in M8-M14 in 1.75/1.5/1.25 for $125.

Also bought some more boots for $38 and $29. I ship everything to store to save the convoluted shipping they have.

All in all I shouldn't need hardware or boots till I'm 70, so I'm good for the next 20 years.

So just to be sure, this is a standard 1/2" drive universal joint?

Clearance at granger.... LOL

Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

?

I spent about $100, checking prices from other suppliers would have cost me about $600. Cheap paint pens, Safety glasses, 5" casters, cleaners, lubricants, gloves, electrical fittings etc.

Actually the best clearance sale I've spent money on from GJ. On the other hand, I have spent about 40+hrs searching Home Depot for deals and have only scored a few tool chests and not much else.
