I wanted to help anyone out who needs it, I have access to an employee account through grainger and when I use it I get a discount on stuff and wanted to pass that along to help anyone out who needs stuff from grainger. Here is an example of the discount...

Proto 5248S ratchet grainger number 1ah61 web price 27.75 my price 17.46
Proto 9210 5/16 nut driver gainger # 3r934 web price 9.80 my price 6.06

Also I have to pay tax, but shipping with the account is free... Just trying to help a fellow tool nut out... I don't have a flat discount rate, but can check pricing with the rep if you want me to get something for you. Let me know.

I get a discount from work because work gets stuff from them and the work account is tied into the state account for AZ, and that is why the prices are pretty good. So as I work for a place that uses them, they give us an employee discount and free shipping. The discount looks great to me and I just wanted to share and help people out if I could as some of the deals I have gotten off of here have helped me out. Also not looking to make anything off it, just helping out a fellow friend. The invoices are in the box for proof I didn't mark anything up. Just passing my cost straight to you, as what comes around goes around.

That is awesome. Thank you very much.
I will be in for some cable snap clips. I need to grab my micrometer and measure my ratchet handles first.

Not sure, also don't know if it works in store... The problem is I can't give out the info because they sometimes ask for an employee number so the best I can do, is buy for something for you and have you pay me for it... But that is the best I can do. Also don't know what the discount is on things, I have to get a quote from the rep, so it is kinda time comsuming, but I am willing to save people a few bucks if I can.

I doubt it, I have never asked them and probably doubt it... Maybe someone else would know.

48548: That’s a very generous offer.
Another option for anyone wanting a discount from a Grainger store is to determine if the company / organization you work for has an account w/ them. Most Fortune 1000 companies, and virtually all state, federal, and many municipal governments have accounts w/ Grainger, and frequently if you can provide some ID, they’ll give the organizations’ discount while you pay cash. In my case, I showed some ID and they set me up w/ a Grainger account on the spot.

Hope this helps.

I get an employee discount at grainger too. Don't ask any questions, I just got a hookup...

I rarely use it. Even with 40% off the catalog price, their stuff is still more expensive than you can find on the internet.

The only time I really use it is when I need something now, and I drive down to the branch (they will honor the discount, btw)... Downside is, half the time the wild-goose-chase item i'm looking for isn't in stock at the branch anyway.

It was the same deal back when I had a Snap-On employee discount. Even after the discount, still too expensive.

Yeah, my impression of Grainger when I've done pricing is that it's pretty expensive compared to regular McMaster and discounted MSC. Still they have some stuff I haven't seen at the other too.

But what really gets me is Seton - mostly labels and safety equipment. Some material handling. But man are they a rip-off. Nice expensive catalog though....

They are quite a bit more expensive on most things. For example, a Zoeller M98 pump is $145 from Grainger but I can have it shipped to my door for $98 online. The flip side of that is I paid the list price (less 10% discount from work) when my basement was flooding, & I needed a pump now. I have 2 locations in opposite directions within 20-30 miles so between them they usually have stuff in stock.

I'm jealous! My wife has been at Grainger for 17 years, and my father-in-law retired from there after 35, and we only get 30%.

reviving an old thread, but i want to add that grainger will price match if your company is in good standing with them. talk to sales. explain to them you want to do as much business as you can with them. they will start matching any other retailers price if you show them you can get it for cheaper elsewhere. follow up by actually ordering as much as you can from grainger and it will change they way you view them. amazon doesnt hold a candle to them when they will honor the same price and its always at their nearest branch the next day after you order. theres a reason they are a powerhouse in the industry, they do for businesses the same thing amazon does for consumers... they make things happen.
