No cancellation phone call here but also nothing in my order status page.

Almost bought the HH 187 last week until I saw this deal. Now when I try to buy the HH at TS it's only available in store, the nearest being 250 miles away :(

Are your cancellation calls coming from a (305) prefix, I just got home after being gone for 3 days and I have 10 calls from the same number without any message. I looked up the number and all I could find is its coming from Miami Florida.

Just received a phone call from my local area code (presumably my local branch I selected for will call) that my order was cancelled due to a "pricing glitch". He said he could offer the same welder for 30% off though. Oh well. I was a brand new customer with "Personal" as my company FWIW.

I called grainger this morning and they said my order is still open and it is on it's way to my local branch. Hmmm.

Just came back from my local branch. Was shown the email that was sent out. Sale prices were incorrect according to Granger email. Granger is giving a discount on the same machines. Looks at some of the online sellers and the Granger "we are sorry we messed up" discounted price is a bit better than from the reputable online sellers.

I went and picked up the Hobart 187 from TSC yesterday. They only had the floor model left, but the store itself is only a couple months old so the floor model was as good as new.

I got the sale price plus the 10% off my purchase, i picked up a 10lb spool of .024 solid wire and a couple sheets of steel to finish up a project i am working on. Save myself $60 on the purchase above the $100 sale price on the welder. Great deal!

Got the call from Holly at Grainger, she offered me the 30% off deal and I took it. They wil ship it to the local Grainger saving me about 70 bucks. I think they were fair about it, this price is probably their cost on them.

I have 8 more of these left. If this add is still up, I have units left.

These go for $900 from the cheapest online place.

Glad to hear another person was able to get the extra 10%. I just received my call 30 min ago from Grainger with the $827 deal. The TSC about 2 miles from work has a hobart 187 in the box calling my name.

Got my call a couple hrs ago from Carol. She said Grainger had been working hard with Miller to find a way to honour the price, but she said even Miller couldn't handle the volume of production (thousands of orders, she said) to fulfill all orders. The price was a mistake, entered around the same time as they're changing the packaging, they're very sorry, here's 30% off, blah blah. She said no orders will be fulfilled at that price (so I wonder if the CL deals posted here are just coincidences). Oh well, disappointing but, what can you do.

Just got my call from Katy @ Grainger. Bummer.
Caller ID was 888-361-8649 (saw someone earlier asked what number calls came from).

if anything, both Grainger and Miller have definitely gained some knowledge of how many people would be willing to spend X amount of dollars for a good quality welder even in this market

Got a phone call, was told the price was an error. Also got an email:

Thank you for your order for the Miller Welder. Unfortunately, there was an error in pricing, and your order has been canceled. We appreciate your business and apologize for this inconvenience. To make up for this error, we can offer you a 30% discount from the normal price. If you would like to purchase the welder at the 30% off price, you can call Grainger at 1-888-361-8649.

I'm not sure which item that 30% off applies to, I don't see the old item anymore, just this one: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/MILLER-MIG-Welder-5GVY9
30% off of that would be $773.50, a bit less than the $826 others posted. I think I'm gonna pass... I've been thinking about a Miller 211 at the local airgas, it's $1040 there.

I didn't even notice the price till you said something.
Miller 140 = $906 on the website
30% off = $634.20

but they told me $694.40 for the Miller 140. So they are screwing people 60 bucks now.

I actually got a second phone call from a second rep (888 number) telling me the same thing -- pricing error, 30% off if I want it.

:lol_hitti...I was waiting to hear from Grainger so they screwed me twice!:willy_nil

Waiting was never my strong suite. 10 years ago, I would have bet money that Grainger would make this right. Today, I never imagined they would.

I sent this thread and one from a welding board to my former BIL. He's supposed to be a big shot at Miller these days. I thought he might like to see how this vendor is taking his companies name for a spin.

Got my email today. I knew this deal to be to good to be true and can't necessarily blame Grainger for cancelling the order. I had hoped that they could get the prices to be a little closer to what the sale price was. I was not quite ready to replace my Lincoln 135 yet, but at that price I could not refuse. Unfortunatly even at Graingers "let us make it up to you" price, I can still get a comparable Lincoln 180 for less.

Yeah it's funny that the price they offered as compensation for their mistake is more than twice the price of the "sale"/mistake we tried to buy. 20 or 30% higher than the sale would have been cool, even 50%, but over 100% is kind of funny.

CL ad doesn't mean the guy actually has them, could have ordered same as here and listed as soon as he had confirmation. Guy is out nothing if they don't show, and has them presold if they do.

Makes me wonder how many of these welders were ordered for the low price. Had to be hundreds. Especially if people were buying 10 with intentions of selling them for a profit.

Does anyone kind of wonder how the price was entered incorrectly in the first place? Were they intended to be put on sale, but not for $395? If so, wonder what the real sale price was supposed to be. If not, wonder how it got so screwed up.
