Grainger online question

So a few days ago I signed up and a few days later I got a email saying I would soon get a account number but meanwhile I can place a order online with a CC.

So I added my company card and I placed a order and got a email with the order number and all, however nothing shows under my order history at all.

Anyone have issues like this before?

Sign up at Zoro and buy the same products at lower prices. Zoro is owned by Grainger.
No order history because you have not received your order yet.
Also set up an account with McMaster Carr.

I called today and they said my order shipped but since the shipping department was not operating today they were unable to give me the tracking info..

So they never send tracking info when a order ships? Man not too pleased for my first time ordering from them.

When I place an order the phone person tells me if its in stock and how its shipping. I always get it next day. Its not like other places that may not ship immediately. Grainger does. If not in stock or shipping from the MFGR they tell you that. They also send a confermation. Always been fine for me at work. But Im only spending someone elses money not mine.

Yeah it's coming from NJ I called this morning when they opened, meanwhile I thought they split the order so they sent the catalog to me which is 9 lbs I don't know why I did not expect that coming.

Grainger has always worked fine for me with order history, etc. I pay with cc every time. McMaster has a better search IMO and is way faster to checkout. There isn't 8 confirmation steps along the way. We get free shipping with grainger and both come next day so both get used quite a bit.

on the phone with grainger now because i still don't have a account number online so i cant view my order history.. so they are doing a search now.

It did ship but the last email I got from them was saying that they have to verify the info or something like that.. but its been days now.

Ok I called and at first they said they had no account under my name :-/ or my phone number.. but when I gave them my order number and told them that it shipped they looked it up and said Oh we are so sorry here is your account number.

I don't think we will order enough yet for line of credit plus I don't know where the tax stuff is located plus because we are still in the process of ,moving in here that's the last thing we are looking for at the moment.

The only way I use Grainger is ship-to-store, no shipping costs. The local one is real close. In that respect they are competitive with McMC if I buy from McMC and have to pay shipping. Anything long, oversized or bulky is a good deal picked up.

I wonder how Zoro would stack up?

Hmm yea I got my account set up a couple years ago bit I don't remember it being to troublesome. Now I just login with email/password.

I actually found zoro when looking up chain links at grainger. They were stupid expensive at grainger(like most things) so I plugged in the part number on google and found zoro. About a 1/4 of the price on that item. I usually forget about zoro for most of the stuff and get it from grainger though.

Is it just me or they not send a email for order pick up? The last email I got was saying it was back ordered.. so I happen to log in and it says it ready for pick up.

LOL I should get the hang of it after this.. I still like looking at the paper catalog, used to look at it when I was a young kid.
