A long time ago I was given my grandpa's mobile tool box, which had sat in the basement of my dad's shop (once my grandpa's shop) for many years before. I started working in the shop when I was about 11 or 12....I just kind of hung around and began doing more as time went bye. A lot of the tools we used (my dad and I) were grandpa's, and unfortunately many classics are still in the shop though it sits idle today, as my dad has passed too (1996).
I always thought the box and tools were cool, but never really gave any thought to restoring any of it. Since finding the "restored 1930's garage" mega-thread and some old pics of my dad, I have found a great fondness for old stuff (it was always there, just buried in the rat race) and plan to clean up the tools and the box if it's not too far gone. (any tips will be appreciated) It's sat in my garage here in humid Cesspool South Carolina for 10 years so it's pretty bad:
Lots of rust
When things were still made in USA
A couple odd tools ( I used the oil can, the large hammer, awl and sticher on a daily basis throught the 80s)
Tips for speed circa 1961
Odd tools
