Grandpas Walker Floor Jack

Well, picked up a new floor jack today on the way home, for $30. Looks to be an Walker floor jack. Not my grandfathers, but the grandfather of the wife of the guy I bought it from. He was retired and looked about 70. He said he's had it for more the 30 years.

Looks to be missing a cover, and will leak down when a weight is on it ... piddling all over the place to. Did I mention its HEAVY. About broke my back putting it in my small hatchback.

Anyway, no Id plate was found, but there are some numbers. I'll be trying to find out what is first, then locate parts ... then refresh it. Love the looks of these old jacks ...

The Ford dealer that I worked at in the 60's had a couple of those, and were used often. I've got a Sears 2 ton floor jack that is similar, bought in the early 70's that I still use. It, too, leaks down after a while. Now that I'm retired, I should rebuild it.

Restore it and use it...they are much better than the little ones you buy today and can carry with one hand.
