Grandpas bench. I do not know when it was made but my Dad said this bench has always been in the house as far back as he remembers. I inherited it in the 1985 and except for refitting the doors it is exactly as it was when Grandpa used it. I cannot help but wonder what he worked on when I see the paint splatters and scars in the benchtop. I hope to be able to pass this on to my son someday.

seeing these pics reminds me I need to clean the basement workshop

Great post, I have a set of auto body tools of my Grandfather's and think the same things. How many hours spent in his hands and now mine. I can't wait for my son to get a little older and start sharing the knowledge.

My wife's grandfather was a vintage car guy, he died shortly before I could meet him, but I love looking through his garage, and am hoping to inherit some of his tools etc. So much more interest and history than new stuff.

And it comes with a vise. I wish I could go get my grandpa vise that I cut my nose on when I was five.
