Gray fiberglass boxes?

My home center has some Allied gray fiberglass boxes that has a black tab inside where the wire would go threw the knockout. How do you properly use these?

Punch out the spot where you want the NM cable to enter and push it through. The black clips are pressure clips to keep the wire from pulling back out. The cable still needs to be stapled/fastened to the framing member within 12" of the box.

these things are garbage i just used something similar to these and everytime i skinned the wire i broke the holding tab and the grounding bar in it doesnt have much to keep your ground captive from moving like the metal boxes

The rep at my HD recommended that I NOT use the fiberglass boxes. He said they tend to crack more and the holes for mounting the devices strip-out easier than the plastic boxes...

Most pros at electriciantalk likes the fiber glass or the supper blue boxes if they are using none metal ones.

From this posting and the other one I think they are junk and only should be used in old work.

So that being said...what is the "Best Box" to use...Metal? Plastic? etc...

Personally I dont care about what its made of...I just like a solid feeling box. My favorite box thus far has been the Carlon ENT box:

I punch out the knockout...install a plastic Grommet and screw it to the stud...voila..

I've used the Leviton version of the smart box when installing a recessed duplex for my wall mount TV, liked it...was gonna look into getting some of the smart boxes for my garage...a couple to test at least for now.

Theres no clear cut answer, But reeding between the lines Arlington none-metalic or Pass & Seymour boxes seems to be number 1 then fiberglass or CARLON Super Blue.

It looks like Arlington or Pass & Seymour has a better wire locking system to me. Arlington has some neet ideas for old work to.
