Grease Gun Help

I need a grease gun for lubricating the front end of my truck. I'm looking at the Lincoln 1133 pistol grip manual. That one takes a 14.5 grease cartridge.

When I look at what's available at my local chain auto part place, they mostly sell 14 oz cartridges. There was only one kind of grease in a 14.5 oz cartridge available.

Will a 14 oz cartridge work in the 1133 or do I have to go with the Lincoln Guardian line (G113) or other model for DIYers that is for 14 oz cartridge?

Thanks in advance.

i wouldnt buy that gun. i bought that exact gun to grease forklifts and didnt even make it past the first tube. plunger bypassed more than half the grease. went to pull the plunger back thinking i was out of grease and over half the tube came out the back. went to napa and bought their "heavy duty gun" for $30 i think and havent had a problem since

I hate those little grease guns. The one I had was poorly designed (see smothers' post), lube is expensive and selection *****. We have a 'nice' one at work, and I still hate the thing.

Were I you, I'd get a regular gun, swap out the 12" hose for an 18", and get a 90 degree adapter. Can all be had cheap, and it works perfect.

I really like the Alemite stuff alot better over all, in the nineties Lincoln I thought was better but as of late with another new owner group the stuff doesn't seem any where as nice .

I have the Lincoln 1133 and it takes the full size grease cartridges - whatever ounce size that is. Also I should note that it's at least 20 years old and it still works as good as the day it was new. I actually have more trouble with the grease than I do the grease gun. I can't keep the grease from melting and turning into liquid.

Thanks guys.

I believe the 1433 and 1434 are both 14.5 oz. The question I'm trying to answer is whether 14 oz and 14.5 oz cartridges are interchangeable.

I noticed that the Alemite is a 14 oz, which seems to be the more common cartridge at the auto parts houses.
