PVC gets brittle with exposure to Grease! You could have greasy shrapnel all over the garage!!!! :willy_nil

Awww... just kidding! I'll be copying.

A 5 gallon bucket can work and it could be shelved, even modified or hung out of the way.
I use them some and some more in the summer but what I like about the trach can and especially if it has a liner is that it is as easy a deal as I ever used and then some, its neat and can contain any mess or drips, its handy and didn't take up any additional foot print, use any wall space, no nothing and doesn't require much discipline.

I've posted the holder I previously made before but I've made some additions

The holder to the right is the one I've posted before. I recently made one for my smaller grease gun and one for my caulking gun as well.

I also recently found this holder sitting around the shop. So I painted it and bolted it to my cart. It makes it easily accessed when I'm servicing things.

I've always thought about a different way to store my grease gun, they're such an odd shape and tend to leak a little over time. I finally decided to go ahead and make one.
I've thought about a simple design and basic construction. I've seen them on Ebay and similar things made for Pitpal type brands.

I started with the materials first. . .

3" PVC, 12" long
3/4 PVC, 6" long
a cap for the 3"
a cap for the 3/4"
pvc glue / cleaner

a couple of 1/4 nuts/bolts/washers
a 1/4" lag for the wall mounting.

Draw a couple of straight lines, on each piece down it's length. A door jamb works good for this. Drill a couple of holes, (for a 1/4"bolt)one near the bottom of the 6" piece and the other about half way up. You don't want one at the top as bolt head or nut won't allow the hose to fit.
Now you have the choice to put the bolts through the 3" or the 3/4" PVC. I ran the bolts through the 3/4, (it was easier to trying to fish the nuts vice versa) then tightened the nut through the 3". Line up the 3" section and drill the holes through it, keeping the tops level with each other. Next, put the nuts on and tighten them. This is where a tappet wrench and/or ratching wrench come in handy.
Next glue the caps on. Drill a hole about a 1" down from the top of the 3" to hang on the wall. You may want to hang it with the 3/4" touching the wall or with it turned 90 degrees from the wall, personal preference.
Then I scuffed it and shot it with some black spray paint. I stuff a blue shop (paper) towel in the bottom to absorb any leaks from the gun. Now just take a 1/4" lag and screw it to the wall.

Pretty simple huh ?

oh, I did add a couple of washers between the two sections, the 3/4" cap creates a gap, so a coupple of washers make it even.

Sup brah

Funny how I never saw this thread before. Here's mine, made it several years ago, and never have had an issue with either gun weeping. Just made it out of some pieces of scrap EMT conduit.
