I've always thought about a different way to store my grease gun, they're such an odd shape and tend to leak a little over time. I finally decided to go ahead and make one.
I've thought about a simple design and basic construction. I've seen them on Ebay and similar things made for Pitpal type brands.

I started with the materials first. . .

3" PVC, 12" long
3/4 PVC, 6" long
a cap for the 3"
a cap for the 3/4"
pvc glue / cleaner

a couple of 1/4 nuts/bolts/washers
a 1/4" lag for the wall mounting.

Draw a couple of straight lines, on each piece down it's length. A door jamb works good for this. Drill a couple of holes, (for a 1/4"bolt)one near the bottom of the 6" piece and the other about half way up. You don't want one at the top as bolt head or nut won't allow the hose to fit.
Now you have the choice to put the bolts through the 3" or the 3/4" PVC. I ran the bolts through the 3/4, (it was easier to trying to fish the nuts vice versa) then tightened the nut through the 3". Line up the 3" section and drill the holes through it, keeping the tops level with each other. Next, put the nuts on and tighten them. This is where a tappet wrench and/or ratching wrench come in handy.
Next glue the caps on. Drill a hole about a 1" down from the top of the 3" to hang on the wall. You may want to hang it with the 3/4" touching the wall or with it turned 90 degrees from the wall, personal preference.
Then I scuffed it and shot it with some black spray paint. I stuff a blue shop (paper) towel in the bottom to absorb any leaks from the gun. Now just take a 1/4" lag and screw it to the wall.

Pretty simple huh ?

oh, I did add a couple of washers between the two sections, the 3/4" cap creates a gap, so a coupple of washers make it even.

I keep my two grease guns, and two different cardboard cans/tubs of axle bearing grease in a plastic tote box on the shelf--the bottom of the bin has a layer of absorb-all in it, with a piece of expanded metal grate on top of it. Keeps everything nice and clean.

I just hang mine off my toolbox handle, but I only have 2 guns. They drip a little so I just keep a rag on the floor under them.

Nice idea, I'll have to have a scrat around and see what I've got in the way of drainpipe offcuts. Mine are just chucked in a steel cupboard and leave a nasty mess behind them, mind you I guess it keeps rust at bay!

I have four guns, none of them leak. Hang them on four 16d nails attached to my wood storage bins.

That's a great idea. Here in the warmer climates they do tend to be a little more messy. Mine are in a 5 gallon bucket out in the shed now, but I may have to copy you soon.

Danny likey!

I'm going to make one too but from the black ABS or possibly the gray plastic stuff.

Why do you guys have so many grease guns? I have one small one and its fine for the many cars I have.

I had to screw a board to the side of that storage cabinet to keep stuff from rolling off into the can. Most of my trash is paper products, the common garbage cans are for it and I have a special one that feeds the dumpster. I usually kind of look when I burn or dump to make sure something isn't going out that shouldn't.

Hi.
Made my copy today, it's made of recycled steel from other projects. It holds both greasegun and propantorch. The propanbottle is so tall it keept falling over, and always ended on the floor. Thanks

What Gilbo said!!

I used to keep mine in a 1 lb. coffee can. It did an all right job, but the bottom end would always get oily. For the new shop, I discovered this:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HHI-00002/

Got three of them screwed to a chunk of OSB and hung off one of my storage shelves for my grease gun collection. I'm happy to get the guns out of the coffee can. I don't have much time living with these yet, so the jury is still out. They look nice, though, and weren't too expen$ive.

That piece from Summit is what got my gears turning. I'd just rather try to fab something up myself for the "did it myself factor"

BTW guys, some more good ideas here keep them coming.

Quick question: Does grease freeze? Can I store a grease gun outside in Wisconsin?

A little newer picture, stuff gets changed around all the time.

I gotta ask. Whats up with the door to no where? Do you get your friends drunk up there then ask them to leave through that door?
