Grease Gun Recommendations

What exactly happened that the grease gun blew up? That is quite an experience.

Good thread and discussion. I use a grease gun just a few times a year for the mower and am going to try out this model based on some earlier posts. Looks like it has decent reviews.

M12 bought one refurbished and one new both have worked great. The lock n lube coupler and the barrel caps are terrific do what they say they will.
Keeps the grease in both ends.

Siteman25 - thanks for the good info and feedback. After looking around for a few days on the net, I think US made options are pretty much unavailable for a manual pistol grip grease gun.

After struggling again yesterday servicing the tractor, I bought the grease fitting clamp, a rebuild kit and a swivel.

The best one i have used so far is a john deere branded one that i believe is made by alemite. Any john deere dealer will have them

For those still interested in US made options, I found 2 after a good bit of searching but they are lever-style (not pistol grip).

I know this is heresy but there are a lot of good products made in China (but obviously, a lot of bad ones, too). The distributor (in this case, Lock-n-Lube) needs to define the specs & quality standards, make sure the manufacturers meet them and hold them accountable. It's really on them to make sure the products they source from China are not sub-standard....
