I inherited my dads grease gun about 6 years ago. He had cut the top of a disposable plastic water bottle and slid it over the end. I just left it on and it works.

I was going to make some PVC holders myself but stopped short when I saw the cost of the PVC. Good lord has that gotten expensive (or I've gotten cheap). I'm still cleaning up the drips as I can't justify the cost of avoiding them.

I had to buy a 10ft stick of 2" for maybe 16" I needed. Was almost $30

I store mine on their sides, in a broiler tray, with paper lining the base. You could use the top ventilated portion as a trip tray, I just have mine in the lower tray.

When you live in the desert, your garage gets pretty toasty, and grease guns become oil guns with no place to hide from the heat. Guaranteed grease will liquify. Just beware of the feed side of the gun, so I does not drip on your Keds when its time to lube.

The home centers around here sell them in 2', 5', and 10' pieces. A bit of savings and then you don't have a bunch of cut offs laying around when you don't need them.

What I would like to know is if you can find 12' pieces. Have a project in mind that needs 24' feet. Don't want to piece together three 10 footers if I don't have to.

I printed a holder and added a spot for 'just the tip' that stays on it. Anybody is welcome to the stl file if their **** retention is as high as mine. Clearly base on what I've seen on GJ, I'm mid-pack at best, haha!

They didn't have any and my time was worth more than $20 or whatever to drive around town in a 10mpg truck checking other places.
Was a while I was passing by with the truck deal. Picked up a few other bigger things too.

I keep my grease gun in a toolbox drawer on a piece of corrugated cardboard. There is very little seepage and I replace the cardboard periodically. I JB Welded a short length of EMT conduit to the gun body to act as a holster to hold the tip when the gun is stored.

The Jaguar has about 20 grease fitting on it, there are several on the F150 and a few on the riding mower.

I used something like this container below by removing the spigot and cutting the hole large enough for the cartridge. Then the hose goes in the other side.

Thus, the hose and the cartridge are all contained, and I have no more drops on my floor to slip on! The carry handle is handy as well.

I do the same, though I cut a much larger opening that also accommodates my oil funnels.

I just used my heat gun to heat up a water bottle and formed it to the T shape of the handle and it sticks on the bottle very well.
I literally just sort of did that, minus the heat forming!

So the consensus is, they are gonna leak, it's just finding a contraption to contain the leak/keep it off other stuff?

I am not Joe computer so I can't send a picture. I use a cardboard box that multiple grease tubes come in and just put my grease gun in upside down.
Haha, I think I get the gist, the idea is less (none?) of the grease will leak from the "top" of the gun versus the bottom? I could put it in a plastic bag upside down and get the same results?

A true plumbing supply will have 20 foot sticks you may have to buy “pressure pipe” instead of DWV (drain waste vent) but it’s available.

I’ve never seen a grease gun that didn’t leak to some extent. They do it worse when it’s hot. Heck if it’s really hot the tubes of grease will even bleed around the cap even when they are new and up opened. In a service vehicle a bucket or plastic tub is common practice. In a shop setting I’ve found a simple cardboard box is adequate. Replace the box as needed

Actually leaking was not a concern. It was just easier to stick it in the cardboard box upside down so the hose bends up so it wouldn't get any grease left on its tip on the box.

I have several grease guns and they all hang on large nails on posts in the shop. A little floor dry at base of post keeps area tidy. Let’s face it all grease guns drip. Make one that doesn’t and nobody could afford it

I got a few oily greasy spots on the floor. I just don't worry about it much!

I roll up an old sock stuff it inside the other one and slide it over the gun hangs from a pin on the wall, Buy enough new socks can do this couple times a year. Leave the sock on while using the gun mess free.

Those that are saying their grease gun never leaks: that may be more a function of what kind of grease is stored within. Some old greases seperate into a heavier oil and an oily residue carrier if they sit long. That is much harder to contain for long periods. Even if it contains the oil, it may not be good since you may inject just that less viscous liquid component.
