Grease gun...?

Saw one in Pep Boys made by Lincoln (China) for $30. 16oz tube size. Need to finally buy one. Any recommendations?

Lincoln is good stuff.I'd recomend a pistol grip or a cordless type.Lever types require three hands-two to pump the gun and one to hold the nozzle on the fitting.

Why dont you buy an air powered grease gun, effortless one handed operation. One squeeze of the trigger is like one pump of the handle plus you have a free hand to hold the nozzle on the fitting if need be.

The pistol grip works fine for the weekend mechanic. Buy a flex hose and a right angle grease tip, These two things will make your life much easier. I have this one for 8-9 years and it has never let me down.

One problem with pneumatic grease guns-unless you have a lift,that @#%&^*** hose is constantly either caught in the creeper wheels or wrapped around one of your personal appendages.
I haven't tried one of the cordless guns yet-has any one here?

I just use my old Lincoln hand-type. I am not a fan of power grease guns- too easy to overfill chassis components and rupture seals.

I've got a hand operated Lincoln.

At work we have a cordless Lincoln. After two years of hard use it's starting to cause a few problems, mostly when priming after refilling but still works well. They are expoensive but if you are doing a lot they are definately worth it. Adam

Lincoln stuff is tops. Get the trigger style if you go for a manual gun, I like them alot better than the pump style. My dads lincoln is older than I am and still going strong.

Thanks for all the replies. Went and got the Lincoln pistol type. Can't wait to use it (like most tools). Redoing the brakes/bearings on my '88 F250.

A little tip for the occasional use grease gun is to hang it with the handle down. Doing this will avoid getting the air pocket at the top and having to pull it apart to made it work.
