A good grease tip makes a big difference too. I would recommend a Lock-N-Lube tip. I got the long one and 95% of the time it fits in tight places.

As a former diesel/equipment tech. Get a lincoln. We use to get cheap ones, they would last 4-6 months. I have many years on both my lever action lincoln guns.

A good grease coupler does help too. I have never used a lock and lube. I mostly use a lever action gun with a short bent piece of 1/8in pipe or a grease gun connected to a 55gal drum.

I have a Lincoln #1133. It's a nice gun, but it's an old USA made version.

I don't know if the new import versions are just as good.

I have this one for greasing the tractor. Works well. Used to be USA made not so sure anymore.

If I'm buying a new pistol grip grease gun (I'm not, because my pneumatic one is good enough), it will be something like that.

There are two features that I think make this stand out.
1) Cast lower handle (as opposed to stamped sheet)
2) Two speed adjustment. High flow or high pressure can be selected by the slot that the rivet rides in.

I'd still put a Lock-n-lube on it.

The only non India/China pistol grip grease gun I could find when I was looking a year or two ago was a MacNaught K32 made in Australia. It's really nice. I bought it from empirelubeequipment.com. I just got an email from them today about a sale.

I have the short one and really like it too. I have been thinking of getting the long one but could use more info on how it works and if better.

I own the short one. We have a short and long one at work, but I haven’t used either. It’s just longer. Not better. If you need the thumb lever to be further back for clearance or for a recessed zerk, then it might help.

I got the long one mostly for u-joints. If the short one is working for you, there's probably no point in getting the long one. I still use a pistol grip with a heavy duty coupler if space is tight. With the Lock-N-Lube and electric grease gun, greasing is much easier and less messy.
