Grease zerk fittings, best source for a quality assortment?

I have been looking around for a decent assortment of grease zerk fittings. I need metric and SAE. I have found cheap import assortments on amazon and ebay, is there a good brand to buy? I am sick of buying the littel 8 pack assortments, but the local NAPA wants almost $70 for an SAE assortment.

Where do you guys get yours and what brands would you recommend?

I may pick up an assortment from HF just to see for myself. The fittings are pretty simple so maybe they are hard to screw up. I am guessing the NAPA ones are import anyways. I am still curious if there is a "best" brand out there. I had a few of the cheap ones let grease back out after pumping it in. I may check out the local CAT dealership too.

I am standing behind you while I type this.

I know what your going for in terms of grabbing an assortment now...but after buying and hating the HF assortment quality, I now just buy bags of Alemite branded fittings whenever I need one..price is a bit more but the quality is much more.

Lemme know what you find out about Milton..

Will do, my guess is they will be pricey, but at least they should work well.

K-Tool International has a bunch of grease fittings in their catalog, usually 10 per package. You can find them on amazon, but are no where near the price of the Harbor Freight fittings. As an added bonus, K-Tool says their fittings are Made in the USA, if COO matters.

KTI-04319...............Grease Fittings Metric 10MM 45° Elbow
KTI-04320...............Grease Fittings Metric 10MM 90° Elbow
KTI-04318...............Grease Fittings Metric 10MM Straight
KTI-04313...............Grease Fittings Metric 6MM 45° Elbow
KTI-04314...............Grease Fittings Metric 6MM 90° Elbow
KTI-04312...............Grease Fittings Metric 6MM Straight
KTI-04316...............Grease Fittings Metric 8MM 45° Elbow
KTI-04317...............Grease Fittings Metric 8MM 90° Elbow
KTI-04315...............Grease Fittings Metric 8MM Straight
KTI-04309...............Grease Fittings SAE 1/4-28 45° Elbow
KTI-04310...............Grease Fittings SAE 1/4-28 90° Elbow
KTI-04311...............Grease Fittings SAE 1/4-28 Long Straight
KTI-04308...............Grease Fittings SAE 1/4-28 Straight

EDIT: I did not look hard enough, but finally found their large assortments:

Thanks and COO always means something to me.

Mcmaster has grease fitting assortments: http://www.mcmaster.com/#zerk-grease-fittings/=u2s43d

I've never gotten junk from them, unlike the **** import assortment I got from amazon.

Good idea, not sure why I didn't think to look there.

I went to the local CAT dealership and they sell individual grease zerks. They were helpful and even printed off a chart wight he part numbers and dimensions.

I talked with a company called SAE and they sell all kinds of products. They have some US made products and some German made, but most of the kits were made in China. The rep told me that they are all ISO certified and tested, so they will not puke grease like the cheap ones. McMaster has good pricing on big kits, I just want to confirm where they are made. I will report back after I figure it out and actually get some in hand. I figure it will be a few weeks or so.

I think it's called California, land of Prii
If someone is only satisfied with the most expensive or highest quality zerks, then it follows that only the highest quality grease guns should be used to inject the grease. These should be made in Germany or perhaps by NASA. Additionally, only use grease that is of the highest quality, perhaps suitable for deep space environments. Anything short of this will result in premature wear of the moving parts.

I'm not sure how the front end loader on my tractor is still working after all these years when the grease has been subjected to passage through Chinese-made zerkage. :headscrat

Does Dorman make a Tech Tray assortment? Love those things....

They do, they also sell small kits and individual ones.

Dorman Grease Fitting Tech Tray

Advance Auto has them for $62.99, I am going to see if coupon codes work.

SAE is sending me some samples from the kits, so I can mess with them. I may end up just ordering from them, I will check out Advance and buy a small assortment to compare them.

The kit from advance is only available for ship to home, no pick up or ship to store options. It was $11 for shipping for me anyways.

You wouldn't have a link to SAE would you?
