Greasing the lift

I have a BendPak XPR-10ACX 2 post lift

I did a search and didn’t find too much
(eg, http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23836 and http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12549)

It seems as if it would be fine to lubricate the inside of the columns with lithium grease


And use something like CRC Wire Rope lubricant for the cables


Do you agree?

I would think it would attract dirt and end up being a mess. My Rotary is an 89 and the only thing Ive lubed is the pad pivots.

YOu HAVE to lube the wire ropes - either with that stuff or good ol gear oil....

I have also used WD40 on theof inside my columns.....
